There is a forum on here called Fit for Future Families - July 2011 (they may start a new one for August soon, I assume). The folks on there are all at various stages of TTC, you may find it helpful!

I struggled for a long time. In MY case, I had to lose weight and then was able to conceive. Each 10% of your body weight that you lose increases your fertility by 50%. However, if you're under weight, you may have to gain. And some people just struggle for no reason. It's a heartache only someone who struggles can understand. Sorry you're dealing with that!

We haven't had any luck, and I'm due for an HSG test soon. I'm hoping that once I lose the weight and once my husband gets back from Afghanistan it'll finally happen for us! It's been very frustrating and very stressful for me =/

Many women conceive within 6 months of an HSG because the dye clears out the gunk from the tubes. It's not fun, particularly if you have blocked tubes, but it can be valuable. I conceived 5 months after mine, and after dropping 25 lbs. But mostly I think I conceived because I stopped stressing about it.

    Angel,
Having btdt, I feel your pain, and I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Having said that, I have to tell you that infertility led us to OUR most beautiful place on earth, adoption. We adopted our daughters from China in 2003 and 2006, and couldn't be happier. Hang in there, and I hope that soon you will find YOUR peace. I understand that weight loss is a wonderful step to ending infertility, so I think that you have made a wise choice, and obviously you have done well in this journey.
    Good Luck!:flowerforyou: Lynn

PS: yanicka, YOU ARE AN ANGEL! You have made so many people soo happy! Congratulations!!

that's what I've heard =] It gives me some hope. But if I can get it scheduled this month, we won't even be able to TTC for 9 more months anyway. Should I just get it over with or wait?

I am in the same boat of sorts. I have conceived twice both many years ago, and both ended in miscarriages. When I got to a doctor who was a specialist he looked me in the face and said your a fat slob that's why you can't get pregnant. I was so horribly hurt I ran from the office, it didn't dawn on me till later that something should have been done to correct that doctor's problem. Unfortunately I have reached an age where I have decided I just won't have any. And the time isn't right for adoption. As I understand they won't consider you to adopt if you are over 40 and that is fast approaching for me.

Sorry to be so down and depressing, it still hurts plenty and I know what you are going through. I wish you the best of luck, and hope that you can soon hear the patter of little feet, and have many sleepless nights due to little one's crying ahead of you for the best of reasons.

i'm terrified. me and my boyfriend have been trying for months and we haven't had any luck. i haven't had any formal diagnosis and we haven't seen a specialist for anything yet so i'm hoping we may just be having some bad luck or it's something that can be changed. i'm sorry to hear that you're going through what you're going through, but i'm a firm believer that there are exceptions and the improbable happens daily so keep your head up!

My doctor told me to at least 30 pounds..I've lot over 50 so far..I just want this so bad..I'm sick of hearing this friend is pregnant with number 3 and so forth...and people who get "accidentally" pregnant and complain about it..definitely helps to hear I'm not alone :)

THIS makes me sooo angry! i hate that! people who don't plan to have a baby have 8 of them lol and those of us who want it with all our hearts end up with complications! but no, you're definitely not alone. i want to go see a doc but i'm scared..what if he tells me i can't? i'd be crushed...and my boyfriend would be too, we both want this very badly..
  • Definitely don't give up...there is hope. I struggled with infertility due to Stein Leventhal Syndrome and I have 2 beautiful boys. We've tried for a third but with all of the stuff I've had to have done, my "baby making machine" is toast and there will be no more. I'll put you in my prayers.

It's hard..my specialist is awesome...they usually won't see you until you have been TTC for a year..I've had surgeries, tests, and drugs but it will all be worth it..

I personally have not had to go thru what you ladies have, but several of my close friends have. They are all Mommy's now. One through adoption, two through IVF, and one through IUI.

I hope you are all able to snuggle your little miracles very soon.

We have been TTC for several years now. We did ovulation tests, Clomid, Folistim, IUI, and finally IVF. On our second round of IVF we got pregnant, but miscarried at 8 weeks. We have on more egg frozen, and will try again, but I want to lose some weight first. I was overweight to begin with, but gained over 20 lbs from 2 rounds of IVF drugs and 8 weeks of pregnancy.

One of my biggest goals if to lose down to a healthy weight before we make our last try. I want to give us the best opportunity if we get lucky enough for the last egg to implant.

Good luck to all of you on this journey. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about what we have been through to this point. Sticky Baby Dust to you all.

Yanicka, Thank you so much for being a donor. It was someone as big hearted as you who gave us a chance. :-)

I have been pregnant 6 times and I have 2 wonderful children. I would carry until I was 3 months with each pregnancy and then I would miscarry. When I got pregnant the last time with my daughter, I ended up having to see a women's specialist and we went over my history and he informed me on a little something that I like to share as my way of helping spread a prevention of sorts. When I was 15, I was put on Depo because of my time of the month, and the doctor's kept me on it until I was 31. I would take breaks of sort's, when me and my ex-husband where trying to get pregnant, but I always faithfully went back on it afterwards. When I explained this to the specialist I was seeing he actually swore ~lol~ and I knew that wasn't a good thing. He explained to me that Depo really increases your chance of breast cancer by 85% and also that it was the reason why I had had so many miscarriges. That may not be the case for most of you ladies, but if I can share something, some knowledge that was passed on to me, to stop on person's heartache, I will do what I can. I hope and pray that everything works out for you.
