The best price shoe is one that fits you properly. The wrong shoe will cause problems with your knees.
Go to a running shoe store. Have them determine the type of shoe you need based on your gait. A lot of them also have clinics for beginners as well as sponsored races and fun runs.
Good luck

Every shoe fits people differently, so far my favorite running shoes have been New Balance. Are you a brand new runner? If so, I would suggest starting off slow, maybe with the Couch to 5k program (you can Google it). You can download the app if you have a smart phone, and I also use the Runkeeper app which keeps track of things like mile pace, etc. Good luck!0

I am going to a store that specializes in running shoes next week to get a pair. Everything I have read and the runners I have talked to say that is best. You need to find a pair that fits your feet and there is a lot involved in that process.
I am starting the C25K program tomorrow. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml0 -
It Depends???? You probably need to go to a running store and have them evaluate your gait and your foot to determine if you need a cushioning shoe, a stability shoe or a motion shoe. Also depend on where you run....treadmill, road or trail. Once you know what type of shoe you need then start researching price....but chances are they're not gonna be cheap.

I just got some Nike running shoes from JC Penney - I didn't want to spend too much as I am only just beginning - they are super light and very comfy - I am starting with these and IF I keep it up, then I will definitely go to the runner's store and get them to advise me on the best pair for me. The Nike's I got have ST in their name and they are a revolting color peachy red trim and black - about $74 or $69 on sale or something. They really are quite ugly BUT so far no sore feet! Good luck, running is great for meeting healthy people too and so far all the people I have been meeting who are runners give great advice and inspiration!0

I worked in this area for a few years.
There is no one here that can tell you what shoe is right for you.
Go to a store that specializes in running and running shoes.
Make sure they measure your feet, get and analysis done (if they have the equipment) and check out your old running shoes to see whether you have been pronating or supponating (pressure on the insides or outsides of your soles).
Try different brands.
There are many different factors which will help you choose the right shoe for you.
ie: running on pavement, grass, artificial turf, indoor track, etc.0 -
I went to a running room store and got the best fitting running shoes ever!!0
