edited November 2024 in Introduce Yourself
Hi, so I've been using the MyFitnessPal app for a couple months now but have decided that I am going to try to get even more benefit from it. I've started logging faithfully but realized I have no friends to do this journey with. I've heard so often that a good support system is crucial to weight loss and I'm looking for just that. I'm also happy to be able to provide that for someone else. This is a first for me, as I'm generally a pretty shy person and speaking out/making new friends does not come naturally to me.

To start off I'd like to introduce myself, my name is nicole. I recently was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and am new to the low carb lifestyle that I've been prescribed by my doctor. I am married to an amazing man who is extremely supportive but if I can expand my circle of friends I would love that. Generally I don't enjoy working out, it seems to be a chore and I'm hoping I'll get to a point where I don't dread it as much as I do now.

Working out can be hard at first. For me, the first 1-3 months I have to constantly remind myself why I'm doing it and focus on results. After 2-3 months I start to have fun and feel good! I'm about a month into working out after a hiatus. It can still be difficult to get my workouts started, but I'm starting to feel energized after.

Hi Nicole! I'd love to find a small group of people as well to help keep me accountable. I am married (almost 10 years now) and I have two boys. I'm a working mom, so busy, busy! I used to love running, but I haven't gotten back into shape after my second and need to lose about 15 lbs to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
