Hurricane prep stress and eating

Anyone else fighting the urge to stop tracking and eat a pile of chocolate due to hurricane stress?
I'm in Orlando and having trouble remembering and wanting to track foos while tracking the hurricane.

I'm in PA.. but I have some good friends and family living in Florida. The stress can be incredible when facing something like this. I really just want to tell you to be safe and make good decisions for you and your family! While I won't tell you to eat the handfuls of chocolate, I will suggest that you forgive yourself if you do. It sounds like you want to stay strong, but I'd be willing to guess that you are moving more, carrying gallons of water, etc.. You are prob burning more calories than average so don't forget to take that into account.

The truth is that the chocolate won't stop the hurricane.. and either will a handful of carrots. Some people will tell you that stress eating/binging is an example of an unhealthy relationship with food. I don't necessarily disagree, but I also accept that I am human and I have been conditioned to over 30 years that food can be comforting.

I went out searching for gas and water last night. It was difficult to control myself from buying a bunch of candy, but I did it! Yes, I want to stress eat, but I started mowing when I got home yesterday to ignore the impending storm. Good luck and stay safe!

I left Key West yesterday. Missed lunch, a rarity. I didn't feel like eating. Got some gas in Jupiter after the police came to keep order. Stay safe.

Not only is the hurricane prep stressful, but so is dealing with panic-stricken and rude people. I've passed several car accidents every day this week on my way to and from work, which is out of the ordinary. People are practically ramming into each other to get water, gas, bread, whatever they're after.

I have had a really stressful week--I'm not in hurricane area but for other things.

Last night I changed my settings on MFP to dropping 1 lb. a week. I had been losing 2 lbs. per week and feeling fine but with the stress the past few days, I found that I could not keep up with my meal prep. This was causing me to UNDEREAT on workout days, and get a headache or feel very hungry and overeat (not that much, but maybe 300 cals) on non-work out days (probably to compensate). I just decided that I would take the pressure off myself for the next few days. I was planning on doing this for the next 2 weeks (only 1 lb. per week) anyway since I'll be on vacation. It is making a difference. It is one less thing to worry about now, and I can eat 500 calories more, which seems like a LOT after being on a 1000 calorie deficit for the last 2 months. My plan is to go back to the 2 lbs. per month at the end of September and continue for another 20 lbs. lost.
