Another Fitbit calorie question

Hello can someone please explain so my simple brain gets it. Any help will be appreciate it as I've had the Fitbit for a few months now and I just don't get it. I use workout mode to get an idea of calories burnt during exercise but they don't seem to transfer to MFP.
For example 353 calories burnt during workout mode. Calorie adjustment in MFP is 295 based on the days steps so far. Am I doing something wrong. Shouldn't the 353 be adjusted? I have the negative adjustments switched on.

The adjustment you see, which you can click on and it will explain things, isn't based on steps.
When you sync, Fit bit tells mfp 2 things: how many steps you have and your total calorie burn at the moment you synced. Mfp then calculates how much your total burn will be for the whole day based on what you've already burned. It then subtracts your maintenance calories and the result is your adjustment.
