I'm going to be out of town visiting a friend til wednesday night and I'm not going to be able to work out but I'm going to try to eat the best I can...we'll probably be eating out, any advice? I was thinking eat half of what I order and put the rest in a to go box.

Great idea already. You can also minimise the "damage" by going light on any sauces - especially anything creamy. My rule of thumb is to choose fish or chicken dishes over other meat (as they tend to be a lower calorie choice). Also don't forget that your drinks have calories in them as well.
Hope it helps!

I make it a must to exercise at least 30 min per day when I travel... you might find an option too...
Eating out, I stick to grilled things (fillet mignon or salmon steak are tasty and not too bad from calory intake) and salads with dressing on the side. Alcohol is the biggest issue when out - but after exercising I often do not want it, so I stick to diet Cola, and everyone thinks it is a cocktail :-), or I stick to a glass of wine. No desserts, of course. And try to avoid apetizers and bread!!!0 -

Yeah stick to grilled meats and plain veggies. Also, you may not be able to go to the gym, but you definitely CAN walk (even if you have to wake up a little early). My family took a vacation together last year when I was first getting started, and I woke up an hour before everyone else and took a walk around the town. It was nice, since it was cooler in the morning and I got to see all the beautiful houses and scenery while listening to my music. Walking is great exercise and you can do it almost anywhere.
For breakfast try to keep things simple. If you are gonna be at her house, maybe bring a box of your own cereal or oatmeal?
Oh, and have fun! Vacations are great!0 -
Hey
When I eat out I have been opting for salad, chicken, salmon, soups or tomato based pastas. When you look at the menu just identify what you already know is the better choice. It really isn't so hard to find something suitable I think the hardest thing is willpower - chicken salad or burger and chips??? At this point I just think to myself - How good will i feel if i make the better choice? and that way I actually find i enjoy what i am eating instead of feeling guilty over every mouthful!!!
Good luck with it and enjoy yaself
