Hello all! I'm just wondering if anyone has set a goal of 1 or 2 lbs a month and had success? Did you have any setbacks? Any wise words are greatly appreciated!

So quick backstory, I've spent many years dealing with disordered eating/binge eating, and after a lot of self growth and researching, I've decided to give myself a ridiculously attainable goal of losing 1lb a month. I'm not worried about any motivation issues, because I've come to terms with the fact that when I drastically cut back my calories I usually end up inadvertently gaining weight anyway due to binging, so as long as I'm not gaining I'll be happy!!

I lose 1-2 pounds a month. A few months were a pound a month, a few were 2. It's intentional as I'm trying to master maintenance, and not feel deprived, lose the weight, and gain it back. I eat about 1200 cal plus exercise calories. I overeat by a little (100-200 cal) a few times a week and log it. If I'm starting to lose "too fast" I recheck my logging and tighten things up. I might eat over by 500 cal one day to slow my weight loss down. Maintenance for me is around 1400.

I'm aiming for that too, since I'm in the normal weight range and just looking to recomp/tighten up, plus am short so my margins are pretty slim. I set my calories to maintenance and I aim for 100-200 calories under. My problem is hunger generally, especially before TOM, so it's really hard for me to stick to this consistently. I lost about a pound last month though so I guess it's been working out alright.

My goal is 0.25-0.5lb a week. I'm losing the last 10lb very slow so I can transition into maintenance more easily. Lately I've been stuck for 2mo at the same weight so now I need to re-adjust because I'm eating at maintenance for what I weigh now and not where I want to be yet

That's pretty close to what I'm doing, overall I'm aiming for about 200 below maintenance a day, which for me is around 1600, but I go over like twice a week and log it, but choose to not beat myself up over it.

Yeah, I'm within a normal weight range too (although on the higher end) I only have 15 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight. It's only been two months and I think it's working, but it's hard to tell since I only weigh in once a month and a fluctuation of a couple lbs is pretty normal.

Yeah, my idea to set this goal started with me deciding to eat the maintenance calories for my goal weight, it's just so hard to tell if it's actually working because it's so slow. I've had to kind of decide that I might be stuck at one weight for 2 mo or more before I'm even able to decide if I need to make any adjustments. It's doable, but it's a foreign mindset to me
