Hi, I mostly walk my dog. I try to do at least an hour a day. I power walk as much as possible rather than amble. I have also just bought an aerobic step, which I am going to try out this evening.Dont try and loose huge amounts quickly, just cut down on calories, excersize regularly and realise you have to change your attitude to food to reboot your system. Good luck.0

Hi.
You can have a look at many MFP members' diaries to see what people eat and how they exercise for ideas. Plenty of diaries are open to all. See under settings if you want to open your diary. (My diary is open to friends so send me an invite if you wish).
Food: I try to eat lean protein, plenty of vegetables and (not too much though) wholemeal or sourdough breads. I have cut down on some things e.g. cheese, pastries, but did not eliminate them.
Exercise: I have a range of activities and choose from them e.g. walking, swimming, dance classes and try to do something every day.
Goal setting: I suggest change your goal to incorporate keeping the weight off both during and after your lovely holiday. It is better to think about it in the longer term.
Slow and steady wins this race.

Hello. I am a military Soldier that used this app in the past. I was 325 pounds and this have helped me a lot. Now with a 145 pounds less I just want you to be motivated, focus on your goals and never quit.

I have been on here for a long time off and on. A few things I wish I would have known in the beginning.
1. Adding Friends Helps A Lot (feel free to add me)
2. Always log, even when you go over.
3. Most everyone is here to help, ask for it if you need it. This is where more friends comes in!
4. It is not all about the weight, take your measurements. You might not see the scale move, but that does not mean that you are not changing. Adding muscle, going down a size. Non Scale Victories!!
5. Log your water
6. Set Goals - Looks like you have your long term goal, break it into short term goals.
7. Be careful when eating back exercise calories. Unless you have a fitness tracker that tells you how many calories you are burning a day and you sync it to MFP the calories earned (exercise calories you can eat) may be off.
8. Weigh in once a week - maybe I should say, don't weigh in every day.
9. Snoop others Diary's - Back to the more friends. If you have a daily cal goal of 1500, ask for friends who have the same goals, and see what they eat to hit that goal.
10. I call it my Healthy Lifestyle not a diet. It seems more long term and attainable, maybe this is just me.
11. This is a learning process, keep trying new things to find out what works for you. With food and exercise.
Exercise - I have done multiple things, I have found that I really like to run...my knee hates it when I run so that has not happened in awhile. I love workout videos, the fact I can do them at anytime helps a lot. I usually pick ones that are only 30 minutes long, because even if it is hard I can do it for 30 minutes. I love Jillian Michaels videos, I yell and curse at her but she does a great job inspiring. You can find some of them on UTube for free.
Walking is a great option, get your steps in.1 -
Welcome!! Feel free to add me as a friend.0
