It's best to exercise when you know you can fit it in. I like exercising in the morning to get it out of the way early on and wake me up for the day, but in reality I usually end up exercising directly after work because that's when I usually have the time to do it. Sometimes things pop up and I miss a day, though. If I'm on the morning workout train, that rarely happens because I always have that cushion in the evening where I can make it up if I miss it.

It doesn't matter. In most cases, "best" is whenever you can give the most effort for the longest duration. If that's morning for you, then morning is best. If that's evening or mid-day or midnight or whatever, then those times are best.

It has to be what works for you.
I would rather work out in the evening, but then I can't sleep so I do it in the morning.
...though if I can't sleep I get a workout in and then sleep like a baby. Go figure.

It is best to exercise when it fits your schedule best.

The best is whatever works best for you... what will you stick with.

I go to the gym after work, that's the only time I can go. And I just started going back to the gym.
