Myfitnesspal allows you to use any meal plan you want, you are in charge of setting your own "rules."

I would suggest that you do a lot of research ( in other words, read books ) BEFORE you start a vegan plan. There are specific nutritional hazards (challenges) with being a true vegan and you can make some pretty big nutritional errors with this type of eating.

    Maybe start just vegetarian...(?)

    Regardless, good luck. Be careful.

That documentary is full of lies. Made by animal rights activists that will not stop until they save every animal on earth. Think "throwing paint on fur coats people". They are just doing it by video. Propaganda.
So, if you want a piece of grilled chicken breast, go ahead and eat it. You won't die of cancer. If you want a glass of skim milk, you won't get osteoporosis.

I honestly wasn't a fan of what the health. They seemed biased.
That being said I don't eat meat and limit dairy for ethical and enviromeantal reasons.
Just make sure you eat whole foods. You might need a b12 supplement.
    My favorite vegan YouTubers
High carb Hannah (food and weightloss)
Hot for Food (vegan comfort food)
Apple's and Amanda (health, fitness and nutrition info)
Sarah's vegan kitchen (health, food, fitness)
Thriving on plants (healthy balanced food)

I haven't seen the film, but I've been a vegan-leaning vegetarian for 27 years. You need to read up on vegan nutrition. The Vegetarian Resource Group is a good place to start; they've been around for years:
http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/ I agree with Boland, make sure you have a reliable source of vitamin B12 (fortified plant milk, cereal, nutritional yeast, whatever) and find some recipes you like. The sites listed above are terrific. I also like Forks Over Knives and Ohsheglows. Some foods I'm finding help me along in keeping weight off on here are roasted veggies--My favorite is a mixture of frozen Brussels sprouts and broccoli florets mixed with lots of cubed squash (butternut or delicata) or sweet potato and some pink lady apples chopped and thrown in, a little olive oil and salt, baked for 30 min or so and then broiled maybe 10. I can eat 4 cups of that for lunch. Amaranth seed porridge with a little soy milk stirred in is wonderful for breakfast, loaded with iron, protein, potassium. You can eat whatever you want using MFP, just find (or add) the food you want in the database to add it to your diary.
