So about 2 lbs a week? Depends on how much you have to lose total. Only 20lbs to lose - probably not. 100 to lose and you want the first 20 gone by Thanksgiving - possible.

Low carb or not is totally up to you.

Yeah, it is a possibility but it depends on different factors for sure. Essentially there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. To lose 2 lbs a week, you need to be eating at a deficit of 1000 calories per day.
If you have a good amount of weight to lose and a high BMR, that's totally do able. However, if you don't, and your BMR is low, it's less likely. However you can always supplement your calorie cutting with more exercise and that will make it more possible.

Thanks so much for your answers! I have 30 pounds to lose, maybe a little more. I increased my walking to 6500/day, and plan on shooting it to up it to 10K. I am also doing weight lifting 3 days a week

But are you weighing and logging all your food and keeping a caloric deficit?

If, indeed, your weight is 30 lb above the top of the healthy BMI, then I warn you that losing 2 lb per week is well nigh impossible. I do not know what your weight or BMI is, so if 30 lb is 10% of your weight today, then, yes, you can easily lose 20 lb by American Thanksgiving.
