I'm BACK... and I really need to be. 28 weeks pregnant.

Hello!
My SO and I have been discussing how to best stay in/get in shape now and post baby. I decided I missed this old place. When I left I was around 115lbs...
I am now 156.8lbs, and gaining. (Actually have gained very little in the past month.) My waist is 40", and I'm 5'2", which is sending the calculators into fits.
My goal right now is to slow down my weight gain, I hope to remain below 165lbs at the end of my pregnancy, but I'm probably being delusional. (This is partly why I have come back, to monitor my pregnancy progression, intake, and expenditure.) It should be obvious, but baby's health come's first.
I've read you only lose about 10lbs at birth, then another 5-7lbs in the following weeks of water retention.) That leaves me with about 35lbs to lose. I plan on breast feeding, so will be looking at slow weight loss to maintain milk supply. So ideally a year from birth I will be near my goal weight. (~115-120lbs.)
Wish me luck? I'm gonna need it.

Have you discussed your concerns about weight gain with your OB? I know that even when obese mothers get pregnant, most OBs won't recommend that they lose weight (just maintain, and sometimes still recommend that they gain 5-10 lbs through the pregnancy). Even if your goal is just to slow down your gain, I would ask the doc about recommendations. E.g. make sure you still get enough carbs (keto diets were shown to cause developmental issues in fetal mice), and other key nutrients.
Also, I would disregard waist measurements while you're pregnant. Of course your waist is large; there's another human in there! 40 inches is right in the average range for 28 weeks.

LoL, I know, I was laughing at the waist measurement, not taking it seriously! (However, I got assigned a nice little 6 weeks course on "metabolic syndrome" by our health insurance due to my measurements.) *Eyeroll*
Definitely talking to my doc. My current caloric intake is much higher than it would be to lose weight, that is definitely not my plan until after that baby, I just do realize that I do not need to eat three quarts of icecream in one sitting to make a baby. (Nor does anyone need to take in 4000 calories in a day, you're not eating for two...
(Which given free range on food, I'm starving, I would gladly eat that. )
