    Stop "detoxing", sugar isn't toxic.

Sugar is sugar. Refined sugar is made from plants. The same kind of sugar can be found in fruit. Don't stop eating fruit.

Eating moderate amounts of sweets is no problem. How much "moderate amounts" is, will depend on your medical history, and your calorie needs. How easy it is to moderate, will depend on many things. How to moderate, will depend on what makes it easier for you. One strategy would be to not have it available in the first place. Another strategy could be to portion it out in small amounts every day. A third alternative can be to treat it as an occasional treat. Or have it as part of a meal. Or distract yourself.

These are suggestions only. You have to find what's best for you.

Why are you detoxing from sugar? Do you think it makes you feel low and lethargic? Are you talking about white bleached sugar? Well I'm not going to tell you not to do it because it's beneficial for your health. If you feel that you will control your self better without refined sugar then that's up to you. Personally I found that eating foods high in potassium reduce cravings and a magnesium supplement helps too. Also replace it with things like fruit, honey and maple syrup. Have more protein with your meals. Ask yourself why you're controlling yourself so much? Maybe slowly wean off the sweets?

And my main question is...what time do you sleep and how many hours?

Nothing wrong with eating some sweets in moderation, try portioning them out or if you really can't moderate don't keep them in the house.

Have the chocolate. I do. I have a mini chocolate after a meal about 50 calories (individually wrapped). I log it.

Stop "detoxing" and eat the sweets if you crave them. Make them fit into your calorie goal.

I have a glass of milk when I crave sweets. I think milk is very sweet.

However, when I'm craving chocolate...only not having it in the house will do.

I also drink tea...unsweatened. The bitter reduces my craving.

As for "detox"...it's not biologically necessary:

I'm trying to stop eating sugar, too! (Per docs orders).

My understanding is that artificial sweeteners make sugar cravings worse. So stay away from that.

Milk helps wonders! I tried this last night and have been satisfied since.

Although I must admit, I can't do cold turkey. I've been eating squares of dark chocolate (less than 1/day) to get through. I did cut sodas and sweet teas and lemonades and pastries cold turkey though.

    Good luck!

Sugar is only bad if your diabetic, Even then diabetics can eat sugar just less. No such thing as a sugar detox. Nor is it necessary. Nothing wrong with sugar. If you feel beter and can stick to your diet beter long term minimizing it, do so. But for me, Id never be able to maintain long term without my sweets so i make them fit. Mostly turned to fruit sources of sweet now though and a little dark chocolate or cinnamon and stevia or PB2 - All yummy and sweet but nutritious -besides the stevia lol-
