I lost 45lbs 10 years ago, gained it back and then some. Feel free to add me, we can meet our goals together! :)

It's probably harder this time because you remember how it sucks. Make a better plan. All you need to do, is to consistently eat less. Many people add lots of pointless things believing they have to, or that it will help them. They usually just make weightloss harder. Don't spin your wheels - get traction from day one. Day one is today.

So - set up MFP with your stats and 2 pounds loss per week. You get a calorie goal to hit. Hit it every day. Eat what you like, but log it, and do it correctly - weigh everything, use correct entries, log the exact amount you use, use the recipe builder when you cook. Don't leave anything out, never forget, estimate or cheat, and don't give up. Don't aim for perfection, aim for small but steady nudges in the right general direction. Weigh yourself regularly and learn about "water weight" fluctuations. Exercise if you want to. Get enough sleep and rest, balance fun and responsibility. Adjust weight loss rate and expectations as you lose weight. Prepare for maintenance today. Build habits you can and wish to keep forever.
