I made a mistake, every day I realize that I made this mistake, I did not take "before" pictures. I didn't stand in front of the mirror in my bikini (that doesn't fit anymore by the way) and snap away at side, front, and back views. I didn't want to see myself in those pictures. In that time I’ve lost almost 30 pounds and gone from a size 8/10 to a size 0/2. It’s my biggest regret, I know that my *kitten* has lifted an inch, but I can’t go back and look.
To that vein, I’ve just been “talking” to one of my friends on here and she also doesn’t want to see herself in those pictures. I’ve read on here that it takes about 30 – 60 days for your minds eye to actually catch up with what is really going on in the mirror, we see the person we were, not the person standing there today. This will haunt many people their entire life. Often the pounds don’t matter, but the visuals do because sometimes you see your changes on the scale, and sometimes the scale doesn’t change but you lost that extra chin.
What I’m suggesting isn’t to take the picture and post it for God and everyone to see. What I’m suggesting is take it, hide it at the bottom of your photo downloads for a month and then on the exact same day the next month re-gear up in that same outfit, stand in that same spot, and snap away. Embrace your body along the journey so that you start seeing yourself and all your accomplishments instead of seeing that layering on the outside and obsessing over the scale. In 6 months you can use it to post your own NSV and God and everyone can celebrate with you. It's the first of the month, go take your pictures!

Hmmm...who could this mysterious friend be... hmmm.. lol
I will take the pictures after I move because other wise I will not be able to be in the same spot. I move on Sunday so as long as I continue to take my pictures on the 8th or 9th of every month then I still will get the same results. But moving from NC to FL and so yeah going to wait till I move for any photography.0 -
thanks.... I will take some this evening!0

Excellent advice . I forced myself to take the before pictures about 2 weeks ago. I only wish I had taken them when I started about 5 weeks ago. However, I know I will get so much enjoyment in a month or 6 or even next year when I can see what I *used* to look like :happy:0

the real question is, how did you lose 32 pounds in just 4 months?!?!?!? that is majorly awesome...VERY proud of your accomplishment!!!!0

I agree because when you look at yourself on a daily basis, you can't really grasp the change. I wake up every morning and look in the mirror but I don't really see 20 lbs gone. But I did a side by side comparison on pics last week and I was like, wow.0

It's funny, I always forget that I started at 157 because I estimated my weight when I started my account. I didn't want to get on the scale so I put in 153 and then weighed myself for the first time 2 days later at 157 :blushing: So when I log it it says 28 pounds. For me it was all diet and exerces (switching it up all the time). Once I figured out how to kick my metabolism into high gear all I had to do was be consistent. That being said, I'm always finding new ways to challenge myself. This week I'm taking some of the group dancing classes at my gym because I'm encouraging a friend, it's always fun to laugh at myself when I step ouf of my element.0 -
I didn't take the pictures either. In fact, I have spent YEARS deleting and throwing pictures away where you could see the rolls. I SOOOO regret that now. But I couldn't look at them. I just hated to see myself so fat. So, now that I have set a new goal for myself I took photos of my body as it is now. This way I can watch the changes in muscle definition. I wish that someone had told me that one day I would want those fat photos so that I could celebrate and scream of my successes in a visual way.0
