acetaminophen and weight loss

Hello. I'm into this a few weeks but haven't lost a pound even though I'm getting 600 calories of exercise and strictly keeping food within the weight loss parameters each day. I do take 500-1000mg tylenol daily and wondered if this could have a negative effect on weight loss. I tried a search but too much to cull through. Does anyone know?? Thanks, Bill (67yr old male)

What's your height and weight and your calorie goal? How do you make sure you're sticking to your calorie goal? These are the things that matter.0

No, acetaminophen will not affect weight loss. But how are you estimating calorie burn from exercise? My guess is you are likely overestimating calorie burn.
If you are currently eating back all your exercise calories, I'd try eating back only half.1 -
Started myfitnesspal as a next step after doing it alone for several weeks. No weight loss. Mapmywalk to calculate the walks. A calculator for strength workout which I cut in half. Profile is set to sedentary, although I'm not.
Only had to tweak my nutrition to incorporate more fiber. Losing some size for sure so I'm not unhappy. The scales just aren't cooperating. A coach told me some time ago not to take ibuprofen so just curious about acetaminophen.
Cutting back makes sense. I don't max out on overage calories but not half. It does seem the older I get the more I need to watch about under eating, though, and I'm feeling pretty good right now physically.
Thank you for your responses.0 -
Feeling pretty good physically + losing some size = progress.
I'd ignore the scale for the time being... it'll catch up eventually.1 -
As a 67 yr old what is your mode of exercise? My grandpa is 79 and still goes mountain biking with us and burns around 7-800 calories. But thats a 2 hour ride. Idk a lot of older people who can exercise that intensely every single day. Your calories burned may be overstated and calories needed overstated which would be why theres no weight loss. Whichever calories calculator you use, make sure it is the mifflin st jeor equation (most accurate). Then I always understate my calories, and just work out until ive beaten my last workout.1

Acetaminophen can affect weightless if you have any gluten/wheat intolerances. Almost all pills have some form of gluten/wheat. It can cause inflammation and affect weight loss. My aunt could never lose weight and she started watching for products that had gluten in and by making that small change she was able to drop the weight she needed. Every persons body is different.

Thank you all. Apparently, the general conclusion = Tylenol is ok.1
