Started at 315 around June 1st, and have logged into this app for 65 days straight. Currently 288lbs, and looking to continue. Feeling better, and wanting to help others along the way.17

301... 1lb lost this week as I try and work out what my maintenance calories are.
That was on 2700 cals where I've lost 3lbs in two weeks.
A loss is a loss I guess!!
Cutting down to 2500 cals from. Tomorrow. Boooooo2 -
I started back on a diet at 317 lbs on 1/1/2017 and I'm currently down to 241 lbs (a loss of 76 lbs). My A1c (a diabetes measure) was 7.0 % back then too and is now down to 5.4 %.13

Everybody starts on Day 1. Before you know it it will be day 30, and you will be well on your way to where you want to be. Congrats, Day 1 is the most important.

3 lbs is a great loss in 2 weeks. Steady and consistent is the key.4 -

What follows is a bit long (I've posted most of this elsewhere too)...
I was diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder (BED) about 2 years ago & feel I'm finally getting it resolved recently with medication (75mg Topamax at night), diet and close monitoring of my blood sugars before/after meals (I haven't had a binge episode since May 7, 2017) but I'll keep my fingers crossed on that until I'm binge free for at least 3 months. Prior to that I would binge eat anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week to as often as maybe twice a day and when I binge, I don't get full & can sometimes consume over 10,000 calories in a single day which wipes out my dieting efforts for a whole week!
My diabetes was also a complication with the binge eating stuff & weight gain. If my blood sugar would get too low, I'd get way too hungry & would binge. If my blood sugar got above 180 mg/dL, it would trigger a binge that was difficult to stop (now I know what to do if that happens--start injecting Novolog insulin every 2-3 hours until I get my blood sugar under 140 mg/dL)--sometimes it takes a lot of Novolog insulin if I've binged on a lot of carbs. If my blood sugar gets above 140 mg/dL but is under 180 md/dL, it makes me hungry which makes it difficult to make good food choices which can also trigger a binge and start the whole binge cycle over again! Also, not getting enough sleep or poor sleep can also make me more likely to binge the following day & also messes with my blood sugars.
The best investment I made to help combat my diabetes & binge eating was a glucometer (blood glucose meter at CVS Pharmacy for about $20) & learned how to use it to keep track of what my blood sugars were before each meal and 2 hours after each meal and how various foods (bread, noodles, rice, crackers, cupcakes, etc. which were awful for my blood sugar) affected my blood sugar readings 2 hours after eating them and even longer like 5 hours later. After a while I could determine what I needed to avoid (like rice, noodles, limited bread) to keep my blood sugar from climbing over 180 mg/dL and re-triggering another binge episode again!
Not eating enough calories/day also seems to be a binge trigger for me. The last time I reduced my calories/day to 1200 from 1500-1600 (1600 was the MyFitnessPal recommendation for me for 2 lbs/wk), it triggered binge episodes for me (this was about 2 years ago). Reducing to about 1200 calories/day seemed the right thing to do since I had stopped losing (for 2 weeks) on the 1600 calories that MyFitnessPal (MFP) had recommended for me (& that calorie level had been working well for at least 6 months), so, it seemed like a logical idea to continue my weight loss (in hindsight, I should have waited longer before considering that!). However, with all the binge episodes that happened after that lowering of calories/day to 1200, I ended up binge eating my way back up to where I started (300 pounds) plus another 17 pounds by 1/1/2017 to 317 pounds--and starting all over again! My Binge Eating Disorder Specialist, who I started seeing in Feb2017, had me keep my calories/day at about 2000/day which I would have "bet the bank" I'd gain weight on since I didn't exercise (mobility issues) but instead I've lost weight (76 pounds since Jan2017 & still losing) & now I'm back down to about where I was 2 years ago BUT have been eating about 2000 calories/day which is FAR more enjoyable than 1200! Now, I just keep my calories/day at about 2000 (& maybe up to 2300) & I'll see how that goes over the next few months. If I make it to mid August2017 (just 1 more week!) without a binge, I'll no longer meet the Binge Eating Disorder criteria (i.e. 3 months without binge eating) that's eluded me for so long & finally get that "red mark" off my medical record.

I started in January at 300 pounds am currently at 245. In a bit of a struggle after picking up 4 pounds on vacation last week, hoping to see the downward trend start again soon.4

Would like to join. This group. I am 61 and currently weigh 330. In jan I was 360 so a bit of progress. 3 years ago I was 240 while off on disability for several surgeries. Then I went back to work and gained it all back over 2 years due to stress eating , binge eating and being too exhausted to continue going to the gym.

I've been bouncing up and down on MFP for a couple of years now but the last 95 days I've stuck to daily logging and have definitely seen a change... I had hit 340 and was disgusted so while on vacation I went to the gym at the hotel and started doing just a little, a few weeks later I came back to MFP and started logging, I found a great challenge/group that has helped keep me motivated (The Biggest Loser Challenge). This morning I weighed in at 304.8! I have rekindled my love for cycling! I get a little self conscious when I go riding because I think everyone is laughing at the 300 pound woman on the bike, but I love the way the wind feels and how much I feel that I have accomplished when riding. I set a personal record of 12.4 miles this morning! I have found the more I post and the more support and the more I talk with people about their success the better I do! Anyone feel free to add me as a friend!2

Hello all! Making a commitment to myself today to get back on track for the last time! I know I am going to need support from people who have been where I am so I would love to meet others to motivate me and also to help motivate as well!
I am 32 years old, mother of 3, over 300lbs. I'm in my last semester of nursing school and want to really get myself healthier before graduation so that I'm in a good place when I go to find a job! Any and all support is appreciated!0 -

I started at 313pounds (two years ago),
Now 221 pounds.
It has been a long and frustrating journey at times.
I realised from day 1 that this time it would be different!
Why?
Because I wasn't on a diet.
This was forever.
So it would take as long as it takes.
Step by step, day by day!
I still have another 50 pounds to go, but I will get there.
It will just take time!5
