Hi all! My name is kristin and I'm 35 years old. I was diagnosed with colitis a few years ago but have dealt with it for about 6 years altogether. My issue is not weight loss but rather weight GAIN. I've heard every stupid comment as to why someone thinks I am too thin...from anorexia to drugs and I'm over it. I have the absolute hardest time putting on weight and keeping my appetite up. I'm 5'6 and was at 110 almost two months ago when I started taking apetamin and really trying to actively put weight on. If anyone out there can relate to my issues, please reach out!! I need a motivation buddy lol

Check out the Gaining Weight and Body Building forum. Lots of great advice there!

I have Crohn's Disease, and I am trying to gain. Stay away from trigger foods first. They will aggravate symptoms, making it more difficult to absorb nutrients, therefore also more difficult to gain. I am doing an elimination diet to find out what I can and cannot tolerate (over the years I developed more intolerances to the point where I couldn't tell what I could eat). Anyway, find out what you can tolerate and work from there. Then eat more of it. Calorie dense foods include avocados, bananas, nuts, seeds, nut butters. Fatty fish, poultry thighs with skin, oils, fattier meats are higher in calories. I am too tired to think of more, but seriously check out that forum.

I can totally relate I get the same comments. I do however struggle with anorexia but not like I used to. I eat what I want and when. But I am still 5'2'' and weigh 85lbs. I say try and get plenty of protein. Drink Ensure the ones that are high calorie. And eat like every 2 or 3 hours. We can help each other. I know I need to gain weight , I just can't hardly stand the thought of it.

I struggle with putting on weight as well. I've always been between 105-112. Never passed that. I started apetamin about a week ago. My starting weight was 112. I now weigh 117 a week later. I'm going to give it a month to see how things turn out.

After I gave up alcohol, I've noticed I am getting close to my lowest weight ever (a weight that was not healthy on mean.) I need to up my calories to replace the 400-800 I had a day.
