So, I weighed myself this am. Definitely a kick in the rump I needed to get back on the fitness wagon. The biggest thing I've been struggling with it when to go to the gym. I used to go in the mornings because it was easier for me (kids and dinner) and I met friends there so I had the accountability that someone was depending on me to meet them at the gym. I've been trying to get up to go in the am but the alarm rings and I think nope I'm comfy, headache, didn't sleep well and well no one is waiting for me. So I think I'll go after work. Well that doesn't work because then I get out late because something happens, I get stuck in traffic so it takes longer, the 45+minutes commute just drains me, and then with it being later that means dinner gets pushed back and people get cranky about it. What are ways people have gotten around this dilemma? Any ideas would be very appreciated.
One last thing, what would be a healthy amount of weight loss a month for a woman whom is 5'5" with about 20# to lose?
TIA,
Julie

Go in the am. Tends to be a smaller and more regular crowd.
As far as motivation; focus on how much you can pat yourself on the back for having gone. It's a good feeling.0 -
Go in the morning. Do everything to get ready the night before -- clothes laid out/packed, food and everything else planned and ready so you can just stand up and stumble out to your car. Prep helps me with both the gym and going to an early morning college class -- I'm cranky and not a morning person at all.
A lot of it is habit. Keep doing it for a while and it will be easier.0 -
I agree with the above. Have everything ready and go. i am actually changing gyms cause my current one fitness classes dont line up well with my work hours.. struggling too much getting home at 830 and not wanting to cook so late.0

I moved closer to work... 5min, not saying anyone can do that, but it helped me gain a ton of time and energy (I loathe sitting in traffic with all the other animals) . alternatively, can you carve out an hr at home late night to do a workout in house? that's what I do when I don't want to drive the 20min to the gym.0
