I'm doing well on my weight loss journey but find that a.) I have trouble hitting my 20% protein macro and b.) would like to be able to better manage that late afternoon and late evening food craving. What protein shakes can the community recommend that fits this bill AND doesn't taste like garbage? Thx in advance!

I find taste to be a very individual thing. I've liked things that others think taste nasty and others like ones that made me gag. Lately I've taken to pre-mixed shakes I can find in the grocery store. They cost a bit more per serving, but I happen to enjoy the taste and macros.

Appreciate the reply. Agree that taste is subjective but curious if I see any trends that might steer me in a certain direction. Have you ever heard of a health store doing a tasting?

Sometimes the Vitamin Shoppe near my house has sample days where they hand out individual serving samples. Health fairs and fitness expos usually have similar. Bodybuilding competitions sometimes have supplement samples in the lobby of the event center.

GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 chocolate. I went into GNC today for that very same reason. The others I've tried aren't exactly repulsive but this stuff legit tastes good. I taste tested another when I was there I think it was GNC Isolate in chocolate. Both are very clean tasting, none of that "dirty sock" whey flavor.
I have also tried the Lean Shakes from GNC in the past and found all the flavors to be really quite delicious. They're just not what I need at this point in time.

Syntrax Chocolate Whey Shake mixed with Blue Diamond unsweetened chocolate almondmilk is just like chocolate milk. I put it in the freezer for a few minutes to get it extra cold and it kills two birds with one stone-- my sweet tooth and extra protein.

If you can't reach 20% protein in your diet, chances are your diet is overall lacking in nutrition and balance. Adding a protein shake will not do very much, but it will add to the calories you're already taking in, and if you force yourself to drink it, and do nothing to address your eating habits, you will remove yourself further from a healthy diet instead of improving it. Ready to drink Muscle Milk is pretty good. I like the chocolate flavor and my wife prefers the vanilla. Also doesn't seem to cause issues with lactose intolerant people. The vanilla Muscle Milk mix is real good as well.

In UK you can often buy small sachets of 2 portions so can try before commiting to bulk purchase. They vary according to what you mix them with too. I use PhD diet whey and like all the flavours Ive tried so far, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate made with no sugar almond milk.

Sprouts, a grocery store with a 'healthy' focus here has a lot of si ngle serving protein powders. Dunno if you have that store where you live. I find a protein drink is perfect as an afternoon pick me up without the sweet snack downsides.

I order 12 packs of chocolate Pure Protein on Amazon. 35g for 170 cals, 4g net carbs. I hate protein shakes, this and Premier are the only ones I can have. I choose this one because the protein content is higher.
