I have been back and forth using MFP and I'm hoping I can really stick to it now. I've battled my weight for as long as I can remember, and I'm finally getting off the rollercoaster of going up and down! I can definitely use some motivation from this website by reading everyones stories!

I hear you. I've actually been doing Weight Watchers and though I enjoy it, everybody around me including my hubby have been a calorie counter method. A friend of mind recommended MFP and so far, looks good.

I loveeee exercising, but I can never can seem to get the food thing under control. Any suggestions anyone has of things I can get involved with on the site to keep me motivated?

Welcome! You should sign up for a group challenge, since it's the beginning of the month there should be a lot starting. Look in the motivation section of the forums! Good luck!

Keep an eye on your sodium/potassium levels. Because of the fact that sodium is in absolutely everything, potassium tends to get neglected and we actually need more potassium than sodium. There is a pump inside of most cells that exchanges potassium for sodium and without enough potassium, the pump cannot work. This tends to fatigue muscles more and makes you feel like crap all the time. Even if you cannot get the proper requirements for sodium and potassium, you can try to make them as even as possible and this will make you feel better and allow you to exercise longer or more often without prolonged fatigue. Limiting fats will also help. Make sure you hit your protein quota each day even if you have to supplement with a protein powder. Your diet should contain anywhere from 55-70% of carbs as well as that fuels energy production. Keep at it and good things will happen. I have lost 30 pounds this year already with 105 pounds overall. Another 5 and I will officially be in the "normal" weight category.
