HIIT

I'm no expert, but I agree with Stanmann - I can't envisage a HIIT workout that isn't horrible.
I do a bit of HIIT on the rowing machine. It's the routine that is most likely to make me vomit.
I agree that different people like different things. Some people might like to vomit. I've yet to meet one.
I think Tabata intervals on the rowing machine are kinda fun, in a sick way. But not very often. And I'm not a vomit-er, even near/at (tested) HR max.
So, horrible. But fun. But horrible.0 -
There are loads, Spartan Workout is a good one. HIIT is ok but only burns calories during and post workout and gives short term capabilities, no endurance benefits
You might want to read up on some studies. Quite a few HIIT protocols were designed to give both anaerobic and aerobic benefits. Increasing VO2max certainly does have endurance benefits.
OP, what are you doing now? There are loads of ways to increase intensity with most workouts. You might be able to simply modify the exercises on an app you already have.

It's not possible to give more than 100% and even that is not something that the vast majority do in their "HIIT" efforts. Interval training at a high intensity doesn't have to mean your max. Interval training can be done a lower intensity than max level and be effective training.1 -
