The free Myfitnesspal app used to do calorie adjustments for activity. Now we have to upgrade and pay to get that feature. Do most people use the free app?

No membership necessary. If you want to adjust calories for exercise, log them in the cardiovascular exercise section of the exercise log.

Activity setting is under your goals.
Exercise is logged in your (CV) exercise diary.
(Same as it's been for years.)

Both available on the free app, which is what I use.

I have a free account and I still get activity adjustments.
  • Now it is adjusting again ... I changed nothing in my settings. It just was not doing it and now it is again.

As in from a linked device? ..Was it previously not showing an entry at all for the adjustment? or was the adjustment just 0? (if the latter with a linked device, then it just means that MFP already had you estimated at more calories burned then the device server calculated).

ETA: (the default setting is no negative adjustments.)

If it's a FitBit link, mine's been having a few issues recently.
The latest FitBit app for iPhone is known to be a bit buggy, particularly for the Flex.
I have to force syncs more than I should, and this seems to have a knock on with its MFP integration.

Otherwise, sometimes my MFP on my phone looks ok but on the desktop side it's randomly entered food in yesterday and stuff. It's not perfect, but generally seems to sort itself out if you do full restarts of everything!
