When I put my mind to it

When I focus I can lose weight, I know quite a lot about nutrition and I exercise a lot, I clearly eat too much.
I think I have a physiological issue that stops me from losing weight.
Example I run 9 min miling, I can do one mile at 7 mins, I hear myself say to others I'm rubbish at running because I'm fat, really I think I'm scared to lose weight in case I'm still rubbish but then I'll have no excuse. Anyone else feel like this anyone ever got past it ?

If you like it, then is it really so important what other people think?

What does "being good at running" mean for you, andysport1?
  • There are a lot of people who don't make changes (of one sort or another) because they're afraid of what the results might be. If this is something you want to get a handle on it you might want to talk to someone about it (a therapist maybe?) Other than that, some positive thinking might help. If you stop putting yourself down and try to feel more positive about the accomplishments you already have (for example: lots of people can't run as fast as you) it may make you less likely to sabotage yourself.

you already run which is alot more than some can do, surely dropping the lbs will only help with how good you are at running right? that should motivated you if you are so in to running
and frankly who cares what anyone else thinks? you are doing it for you ! so get your goals in mind and go for it it!

Hi, I suppose being somewhere near the front where 1st place is in sight. As a pace, distance running would be 7 minute miling.
