Does the time of day matter?

Last night, the 31st, I was up pretty late and had a snack around one o' clock this morning, the 1st. I considered the calories from my snack to count toward my calories on the 31st since I hadn't been to bed yet, and still had some calories left over. I started fresh when I woke up. Since my snack was technically today, the 1st, I am now wondering if that snack should have gone toward today's log. Anyone know?

I generally log food from when I get up to when I go to bed. I work until midnight most nights, and I don't get up till like 11 or so.0

I log my calories strictly by the calendar - because I am a middle of the night binge eater and starting my day short a whole bunch of calories is a pretty good deterrant (some of the time). No worse feeling than already being down 500 calories before breakfast
But it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things!0 -
