What are your favorite snacks that you keep on hand for when temptation strikes that won't break the (calorie) bank?

The best strategy for me, I found out, was just eating regular meals, and not fall for my brain's trickery ("panic!" "must eat now!"); instead, give in to temptation occasionally, whenever I especially feel like it, and aim to stick to moderate amounts.3

Turkey jerky ( I buy a big and portion out in 1 oz baggies for 80 Cal 13 gr each), Greek yogurt, almonds, dill pickles, cheese sticks.1

Dill pickles. Skinny Pop popcorn (carefully measured out). Half a container of plain Greek Yogurt, nothing added, just to get me through. A cup of hot tea with milk and a little sweetener. Now, these things are my emergency type snacks not the things I eat for a regularly, scheduled snack.0

Personally, I find protein and volume satiating. If I'm hungry but a meal is soon, I usually just wait, and maybe cut up some raw veggies to eat while I cook. But if a meal isn't close:
In my car, I keep portions of protein-y snacks, like dry-roasted soybeans, pumpkin or other seeds, shelf-stable hummus, or crispy chickpeas. (I'm vegetarian, BTW).
At home, I'd go for raw veggies (whole cucumber, plate of cut up tomatoes, etc.), sauerkraut, lowfat cottage cheese, plain nonfat Greek yogurt with fruit or PB2, single-serve cheese (like string cheese), or something like that.
I'm not particularly rabid about my snacks being super low calorie, as long as they contribute well to my macronutrient goals. I'm not a pre-logger, which probably makes that more workable for me than for some other people.1 -

I rarely snack but sometimes when I feel overly hungry and dinner is still a ways away I'll eat a couple spoonfuls of cottage cheese.0

Greek yogurt. Digging Trader Joe's coconut cream at the moment.1

I find that eating closest to what I crave, pre-packaged and pre-planned, saves me the most calories.
For instance, I like crispy/salty/fatty. Air popped popcorn will do, but a meal replacement shake or carrot sticks won't.0 -
I live by my graze boxes.0

I like a sliced tomato with salt and feta. of course that's not really desk worthy. Lol. So I just have think thin or pure portein bars in my drawer. I'll put a baby Bell in the fridge or just munch on a carrot.0

I respect that! I often pair them with things; dried fruit mixed in yogurt, seasoned nuts with a small apple and a cheese stick, tossing the seeds in a salad.0 -
I don't find that I snack much when I'm home, but my snack drawer at work is typically stocked with almonds, beef jerky, Fiber One bars, Tootsie Pops (my fave), flavored tuna pouches, 100 cal microwave popcorn...

IN my laundry room, I have a dorm fridge and a “snack box”. In the fridge is greek yogurt, light string cheese, hard boiled eggs. I also like the P3’s, lunchables, snack packs of sliced apples, etc. These usually can have up to 50-100-150-200 calories depending on what it is.
IN the box: snack bags of pretzels, protein/fiber bars, fiber caramel’s with crispies in the chocolate. I look for about 100-150 calorie snacks.
I also get crystal light lemonade “to go” packets, and GNC clear mixing super fiber (about a scoop). and Naked whey unflavored protein (about 1/2 a scoop). Basically, what I’m looking for is about 5 G protein an 5 g fiber. I’ve found that helps tide me over between meals.
This way, I have a “safe zone” to grab a snack that isn’t going to completely derail the day’s efforts.0 -

I have been know to cut up a mini cucumber and sprinkle it with Tajin (cajun seasoning) and munch on that while preparing dinner if I'm "dire". I'll also keep a Kind bar in my purse if I think I might get "hangry". But, @orangegato, I need to try those Chicken Sticks. OMG those sounds yummy.0

@kristen8000 the chicken sticks are great. I think the spice helps satisfy as well. I am subscribing to a delivery of them on a regular basis.0
