Just seen the practice nurse HB1Ac down to 40 (5.8%) from 67 (8.3%) and Metformin dose halved in 6 months. Bloods are the best for 10 years!!
Would like advice on where now. Could still do with losing weight but could I have a few more carbs? Currently I have about 30 to 50 grams.

Congrats on your bloodwork getting better! that's definitely a good feeling :)

Are you tracking your food and calories? I am eating carbs without an issue, but they have to fit in my caloric goals and I'm losing weight successfully. Good luck!

I'm keeping my carbs down to keep the diabetes under control. Hope to be able to reduce blood pressure tablets later this year if weight loss continues

I got off metformin also. I have kept my diet where it was to get off. 45-60 carbs at meals and 15-30 at snacks. I didn't get it to 5.8 from 7.5 by eating more than that so I figure why change?
