or to search for nearby ones? I live in an apartment complex with no park nearby or anything really. I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or website where you can make, create, or search for a
Route to walk/run?

Thanks so much

I like this website. You can either follow sidewalks or even cut across things.

  • mapmyrun.com is amazing for that!!!
  • If you have an android or iphone you can use RunKeeper to do it to.

I've lived in apartment/condo complexes and here's what I'd suggest:
Is there a store within a mile of you? Walking to do your errands will save you money AND you'll burn extra calories carrying back! I used to walk to do my groceries. Yes, I had to go shopping twice/week to make sure I got my perishables and my non perishables. Yes, that means I carried 15 PLUS pounds home IN MY OWN CLOTH BAGS! It felt good to be so GREEN friendly too! Saved gas, saved plastic/paper, saved MONEY, got a work out! (And trust me, when you're carrying your own groceries back, you're far less likely to buy ANYTHING you don't need!) So now, if something is about 3 miles round trip, I know I can hoof it!

Is there a place where you can do loops? The complex I'm living in now is .9 miles around (according to my car), so I know I can do 3 laps and 1 block to hit a 5 k mark. It's safe and inspires my neighbors to get moving too! :)
