Weighing

I have a regular kitchen scale. Nothing fancy, bought from Walmart. It's not digital, but I feel like it's off. I weighed noodles today for example for 2 ounces and it seemed like a lot. How do I know if it's off or not?

Weigh something on it that has a known weight and see if it matches up, like a 250g bag of rice.0

Maybe a slice of meat that I already know the weight of, will that work?0
