Getting old

Since 2014 I have managed to lose 10 stone (140 lbs), for me this was fantastic as I am type 2 diabetic and was able to come off my medication and control it with my diet. Everything was falling into place nicely. Just got back from my annual health check to be told that because I am getting older (I'm only 44 for God sake) all the normal charts change so they now want to put me back on diabetic medication. That is unless I lose another stone (14lbs). This is going to be a hard slog as I have mega joint problems. So back for more blood tests in 3 months to see if there is a change. Sorry to rant.

44 old? Yikes, 60 is the new 50! Try to fight off the push to put you back on mess and just double up your efforts to lose the next 14 lbs. Have you looked into nutrition to help support your joints?!? Lots of foods can help alleviate pain and further damage. You can do it!3

What was your A1c? I'm 49 and I have to fight with my doctor to stay ON my medication.
Best of luck to you, it's amazing that you have lost 140 already.1 -
Losing weight can help a lot with joint pain, so that can be a second benefit. If you're worried about how to exercise, try swimming or water aerobics? Otherwise, just eat at a deficit.0

Hard slog is an idea in your head.
Doubt that it's particularly helpful. Weight loss is almost all about intake. I think we find it difficult because of the complexity. It takes a good plan and a lot of concentration.
You can do this. Calculate a moderate calorie deficit and allow time for it to work. Just try to work day to day and keep your predictions about the future out of your head. The future is unknown.4 -
