What activities make you happy? Are you an introvert or an extrovert?1

I say "good job!". That's all the reward I need, and it's free2

I'm thinking that some of my rewards are going to be to schedule a free day for a long bath/Netflix marathon/pj day.5

I think it was in the book Habit by Duhigg where he talked about the "reward" that Febreze users gave themselves. The Febreze was the "reward" for a clean house, reinforced with a deep breath and an "aaah".
So rewards can be as simple as an "attaboy". A Netflix binge watch sounds cool.1 -
Free rewards:
Go on a special outing like a hike
Make a special meal...not free but you have to eat.
Get movies from library.
Invite that friend you've been meaning to for coffee.3 -

I have weeks when I wouldn't get out of the house.. just binge watch Grey's Anatomy or other Netflix
And I have weeks when all I do is stay outside with friends, do things like hiking, or go to escape rooms or adventure parks
So I consider myself both extrovert and introvert
Problem is.. I have my goal set to lose 0.25 kg/week (1430 calories) so the scale doesn't give me any satisfaction (it could be a whole month of fluctuation before I see I dropped a kilo)
That's why I need rewards for sticking to the schedule so I don't just.. give up
Hope it makes sense0 -
I like stickers. I found a big pack of them at Walmart years and years ago in the school supplies section for like three bucks.
I am still using them. I challenge myself to do 100 days of an activity. Right now it's riding my bike daily, doing my leg exercises 100 times (200 days for this, because I rest for a day in between workouts), and weighing myself daily (I forget to do it daily and like seeing the fluctuations).
I print off a chart of 1-100 in small squares (use tables in Google docs to make a chart of your own, do ten squares per row) and put a sticker on every day I complete.
Every ten days do something special for yourself. Take a bubble bath for instance, pour some shampoo or dish soap in your tub and full it up. Soak in it for half an hour with a book and a couple candles if you have them.
At the end of 100 days go for a walk in the park. Or go to something free in your community with a friend.
Go to the lake and sit on the shore.
Walk in nature.
Paint your toenails (the dollar store in the US sells nail polish, I recommend a fast dry top coat like Sally Hansen install dry. Five dollars at any grocery store in the US).
Experiment with eye makeup you already have, there are tons of YouTube videos on makeup application for inspiration.
Eat a small special treat, like a mug cake or a special piece of fruit. (this is a 100 day reward, so you have time to save up for it)
Volunteer at the animal shelter for a day. Playing with kittens and puppies always makes a person feel better, they need the help, and your giving back to the community.
Go window shopping online. Add something fun, impractical, and way out of your price range to your Amazon wishlist.
Create a Pinterest account and spend an hour pinning things you like. I have a board filed with high heel shoes. I have an abnormal knee, even at goal I will not be able to wear heels. I love them though, so I collect pictures of them. I also collect inspiration quotes, cat pictures, yarn pictures, recipes, etc. I have 27,000 pins.
Try a new recipe. Budgetbytes.com is a good source of inexpensive recipes. She uses a lot of cheese, so her recipes can be pricey even for a cheap recipe, and higher in calories than you might want, but it's easy to leave out the cheese and meats. Most of her recipes feed multiple people too, so one recipe can be several meals.
Plan your dream house. Look at pictures on Houzz.com and see what you'd do if money wasn't an issue. Draw it out on paper.
Read fanfiction. Do you have a favorite TV show? I can guarantee you that someone had written stories using the characters in that show. Google "an archive of our own" or go to fanfiction.net. The Grammer isn't always the best, the plots are often porn (though the sites have filters to keep the porn out of your searches if you're offended by porn) but there are a ton of very good stories, all free.
Write fanfiction. You don't need a fancy degree to write, just a word processor. Google docs will work fine. No one has to see it.1 -
Thank you everyone! You've given me so many new ideas0

@jesslla is that how much nail polish costs in the US? I live in East Europe and I can get it for half a dollar usually. Anyway you really gave me inspiration and I will try all your rewards. Thx0 -
No, that's actually really cheap for nail polish. Most nail polish costs between 3-5 dollars with the preumim brands going for 7-10 dollars. And up! I don't see much of a difference between the cheap stuff and the preumim brands, other than the premium brands may not need as many coats and come in more colors.
I just used dollar store polish to keep the price really low since you were looking for free rewards.
Feel free to add me if you want likes and cheers on your exercise diary entries. Or not, I won't be offended either way.1
