Someone please explaom the diff between Atkins and Keto?
Both seem silly to me. We need both carbs and fats, just for different things.0 -
In Atkins it is low carb and hi protein and healthy fats, Keto does protein in moderation. Carbohydrate: 5-10%
Fat: 60-75% Protein: 20-30% In keto you should be intaking minimum of 200grams of fat.0 -

I wish there were a way to get back in the game and stay there! I am now focusing on low carb, starting again this past Monday, and also doing 21 Day Fix on Beachbody on Demand. Any advice would be great as far as Keto. I am about 120 overweight and a mother of 3 ages 10m to 8yrs...I need this weight GONE!
I'm still not keto! I keep falling off that wagon! But I at least try to stay low carb and keep my calories below maintenance. It is NOT falling off the wagon if you have a carb loaded day and barely stop in time to prevent yourself from going over maintenance calories! It's a win to stay below it! Even if it's by a little. Once you realize this, you will start to lose weight. You don't have to be perfect. You don't have to eat at 1200..1400..1600.. you can eat 250 calories below maintenance and lose .5 a week. You can eat 1000 ABOVE MAINTENANCE and fix that error over the course of a week or month and NOT have fallen off the wagon. 3000 today is not a gain unless it's 3000 everyday.
Say your maintenance is 2450.
You eat 3000, 1700, 2100, 2000, 1800, 1300, 1900.. 13,800 for the week. Looks bad.. but once you divide it by 7... 1,971.. Almost a pound lost that week. This is how I've been eating.. all kinds of sporadic.. I'm losing weight.0 -

Hello there. Thank you for your post. it is so inspiring to me. I also have gallbladder removed, I have psoriasis and need to lose weight. I have high blood pressure and high blood sugar. I found out that I have good metabolism and that my enemy are carbs. So I found keto diet article. I am o my day 3 of keto. So far I love the food I eat. But have concern that it is to fatty for me and my digestion as gallblader is removed. Today I started experiencing keto flu. Hope I will have good results as you did.0

Good morning Klisajo,
It seems like you're off to a good start. The real key to success is preparation. My biggest piece of advice is to cook your meat choices and other items ahead on the weekends, then during the weekdays, you'll only have to stem veggies or make quick salads. The foods you should be eating on Keto are not generally available at fast food joints. Plus, when you cook your own food, you know what been put into it. Getting caught unprepared will almost definitely lead you to eat things you shouldn't be eating at this time. Just as a note, your initial weight loss will be comprised of quite a bite of water; it can be dramatic. If you continue, this will level off so that if you loose one-two pounds/week, that's on target.

I started jan 16th , Keto i am diabetic , and need to lose like 200 pounds , I too am in the south and food here is so full of breads and carbs and gravies , and always hungry . since I have been doing this I am not as hungry , I can go hours now , where before I couldn't go 2 hours without eating . OH I make those Fat Bombs too , so wonderful . sometimes that is all I will have for lunch . is 2 of those . MY blood sugar levels are down to normal ranges and I know I am losing weight , but I have not weighed in yet. I will maybe friday . I know what I weighed when I started soo.... fingers crossed LOL I would love your Bread recipe , I have been buying bagels from THINSLIM on-line low carb foods , they also do brownies and muffins . but I just buy the bagels . I also do the flat-out flat breads I buy at the store . net carbs 3 for 1 flatbread and they are big . Please add me if ya want !!!!2

actually you can get a chicken sandwich not breaded or a burger without the bun. some places offer it wrapped in lettuce.so that would be low carb/keto. kfc offers grilled chicken now, you can eat out at fast food places and eat keto if you omit the bread or any breading,as well as the fries and get a small side salad with oil and vinegar or a vinaigrette .just add mayo or things like that for the fat0 -
3 and a half months into this way of eating and I'm down 51 lbs. I'm healthier than ever and have so much energy. It's amazing and I only wish I'd discovered keto years ago1
