I just started my weight loss journey on Saturday this past week. I have my initial weigh in and haven't weighed since. How often should I weigh in?

There is no specified time. It's a matter of personal preference, though I would recommend at least to wait a week between weigh ins to account for day to day fluctuations. Also make sure to always weight first thing in the mornings when you wake up.5

I weigh myself several times every day because I'm an insane person.

I personally like weighing myself everyday. I know there will be weight fluctuations +/-3 lbs during the week. I like to collect data (I am a scientist after all) to evaluate weight, muscle mass, and BMI trends over time. Others find that picking a day and time out of the week, usually mornings, work better for them. It's really up to you.6

I weigh myself every morning and record it. I like to see the overall fluctuations so it reminds me that its not always a straight line downwards.

I weigh everyday - but using an app/website that calculates a moving average (such as happy scale or trendweight). My day to day fluctuations can swamp my rate of loss over a week3

I weigh once a week. My weight can fluctuate by several pounds from day to day and if i see a gain it really bums me out. It's a mental game for me. I find that by weighing once a week I avoid those daily ups and downs and get a broader picture of what's happening.5

I weigh myself a lot. I also like to know whats going on with my body, and see how it rebounds from long cardio or weight training sessions, how it reacts to overeating, or having too much salt etc.
I dont tend to worry about gains, knowing that often weight will fluctuate.

I may weigh almost every morning for the heck of it but I only log my weight once or twice a week. It's been a moving target for me as Friday mornings were a good base level day for me but now I am changing to Sunday mornings as it is my one day to sleep in.
Here's a funny - I have a digital scale that weighs to a tenth of a pound. I step on and I'm down 10 pounds but it blinking a little funny so I put new Batteries in and got my real weight haha5 -
I weigh when MFP reminds me to. Which means probably not enough.2

I weigh in about twice a week. My official logging is Friday morning after I get up. I step on the scale the following Monday or Tuesday to just check out the progress. By doing this, it gives me that added extra boost to make it to the Friday weigh in You could always play around with it to see what works best for you when it comes to doing the weigh in0

Thanks everyone! I might play around with weighing in daily and weekly. More than likely I will weigh in weekly, mornings are hectic for me so I feel like the weekend might be a better option.0

Like once every other week or so. It's not something I'm too worried about.0

Every sat am - It's a rough guide as I delete 3 entries until the first of each month is left recorded.1

There is no "should"...like there really aren't any rules or anything...
I weigh in a few times per week...if you don't understand normal and natural weight fluctuations you should probably weigh in less.0 -
I weigh myself once every day using the Happy Scale app (tracks trends - Libra if you have an Android). This helps me not freak if I haven’t lost or if I’ve gained, because when you have every day displayed in front of you, you can see that okay this is just a normal fluctuation, and I’m still on track with an overall downward trend. I weigh right when I wake up, after using the toilet, naked. Gotta keep it consistent!
I only record my weight on My Fitness Pal when I’ve had a significant change though ... well let’s be honest, a significant loss, because vanity.7 -
I weigh in daily, mostly due to curiosity and there is a nice scale at my work. However, I only log my progress every Friday. I think its a personal decision. Just know, if you're going to weigh yourself daily that weight fluctuates depending on a number of things, sodium intake, water retention, if its that time of the month, etc...so don't be alarmed if you're up one day.0

Every other Friday morning0

I weigh in every morning after Ive used the bathroom, but I only log when theres a loss. It fluctuates about 3lbs +/- but I like to see the line going down... even though thats not how it goes!1

I weigh in once a week first thing on the morning0

I like to weigh myself once a week right before I get in the shower and before I eat for the day. Your weight is the most accurate in the morning. I find it I weigh myself daily I get discouraged by the fluctuations, but that's just a mental thing for me!1

every morning right after the evacuation process....then log my results so to speak..1

I weigh in about every 3 weeks

Ditch the scales and use a tape measure once a fortnight - it's much less frustrating and much more encouraging0

1 time every morning after I pee. I log the results everyday on Libra (phone app) and after a week I take the average and use that as my "loss", or "gain" or to see if I maintained.0
-
I weight every morning when losing, and once a week when maintaining. I like data though while losing and am pretty good at looking passed the usual water fluctuations. In maintenance I weight once a week to check I'm not gaining.0

My weight fluctuates so wildly every day that I weigh three times a week and pair the results with Trendweight.0
-
I weigh myself every Friday, right after I wake up and finish my "morning" pee0
-
Every morning, recorded in Libra. Every Monday morning for official MFP weight.3
-
I weigh once a week, either on Friday, Saturday or Sunday at the gym before my work out. I always go to the same scale, and I'm dressed with shoes.0
-
I weigh once a week on a tuesday morning at my local chemist
I cant keep scales in the house as i end up getting on it every time i go to the bathroom sometimes before and after i use the loo and i get punishy if its a "bad" result
