Is it just me or am I the only one who gets extremely thirsty right before bed? I only drink strictly water but after I'm unwinding from the day I down 3-4 bottles of water.. Is this a bad thing or do others do this too?

May be you are not drinking enough during the day. I try not to drink too close to bedtime and don't want to have to get up in the night! I've never been a big drinker 1-2 litres tops.1

Agreed, I'd try to drink more during the day and avoid downing so much water right before bed, if for not other reason than to sleep uninterrupted If you don't have an issue with night waking and don't feel thirsty or dehydrated during the day, no problem.1 -
I'll admit I drink a lot of water or my weakness Wylers light singles, cherry and lemonade are my favs, including after dinner. But I also drink a fair amount during the day. I lived in the desert and think that started my habit as I used to need to drink upwards of 3 gallons a day especially when I spend a good deal of it outside in the sun. With me, I know I drink more in the evening if I have been really busy doing things during the day where I don't have as much access to my water bottle. I think it is just a habit with me and my body has grown accustomed to it.1

drinking water is good for your heart & leg cramps before bed. I find I don't have to get up any more than usual when I do this1

Try to drink water throughout the day to stay hydrated. If you are thirsty it is already too late and your body is telling you it is dehydrated1

Thank you all so much!! I typically drink 60-80 oz of water during the day depending on my activity level but it seems I match that at night when I start winding down. I'll try and double up water during the day so not having to use the restroom so much at night0

Drink as much water during the day as possible and log it. If you continue to have strong thirst around bedtime, ask your doctor to check for diabetes.1
