Was feeling GREAT this morning. I'm on track! I lost 4 pounds in my first week (water weight, of course)! I'm making healthy choices! I can get to my goal by Thanksgiving!

Then I realized I have a wedding to go to this weekend. All my confidence dropped.

A few weeks ago I was all "I love my body at any size!" and now I am feeling self-conscious that I allowed myself to gain 30 pounds. There is no way that a 25 pound gain goes unnoticed. Does anyone else feel like their confidence dropped only when they started to try to lose weight?

congrats on that four pounds!!! Water weight, blood sweat and tears weight I don't care it is still 4 pounds. Good for you!!! The only time i start to feel my confidence drops is when I am going to see people that i haven't seen in a while and I know that i am heavier than the last time they saw me. I have about 30 pounds to lose and it has been a struggle. I will start again today with logging and going back to the gym. I had my first grandchild about 5 weeks ago and all I want to do is spend time with him so I let myself get out of my routine. So here I am back again trying to get back to my schedule. Good luck to you!! You got this!!!

Quite frankly, F em. This is about you, not them. It's your life, not theirs. You haven't seen them in how long? So why do you care what they think? If they're going to judge you they'll find some way. If it's not your weight it's your clothes. If not that then your shoes, your hair, your jewelry, your makeup. If you showed up skinny they'd say you were bolemic(sp?). Like I said, judgers will judge one way or another. F em. :)

Moving on, looking good is a nice side effect of losing weight and getting healthy but no one can SEE the more important piece which is how much better you'll FEEL.

Keep your chin up. Because you are doing this, and have dedicated yourself to this goal, you are worthy of respect and you certainly have mine! For whatever that's worth ;-)

Thank you both! I really appreciate the kind words. I know I am worthy of respect but it feels really nice to hear you say that :)
  • It might be a while until the weight loss is noticeable.
( For me it took 60 pounds before I got comments. )
But in the meantime, take the time to look good and feel fabulous.
You are so worth it! B):D

Update: I went to the wedding and had an incredible time. I feel silly for thinking I should skip it. I wore a dress that was flown and flattering and honestly, no one was thinking about my weight except for me. One of my friends was commenting on how he had gained weight and his girlfriend said, “you deserve happiness at every size.” Just wanted to post this as a reminder that we ALL deserve love and happiness at every size (and the person who is negatively focusing on your weight is probably only you. )
    =) good job
