Healthy breakfast ideas

So I just now figured out that granola bars are actually pretty bad for dieting whoops lol. So that was usually my go to breakfast & now I honestly have no idea what I can eat in the morning. Keeping in mind that I'm a senior in high school and class starts at 8 am everyday and I wake up like really late so I don't have a lot of time to spare lol.

    Nothing wrong with granola bars, as long as they fit within your calorie allowance for the day, keep you full, and you like them.

    I eat two string cheese every morning, sometimes also a hard-boiled egg or a piece of fruit. But if you like granola bars, just fit them into your calories and you'll be fine.

    Breakfast can be a challenge. . .protein is a plus--at least for me--and something "mobile"--maybe a turkey sandwich made the night before?

    Try a protein bar. Quest Bars and Oh Yeah One Bars are good because they have 20g protein and 1g sugar. I’ve found them at Walmart and Vitamin Shoppe.

    OK, so if you are indeed 18 now, I'll suggest that there is nothing particularly wrong with most granola bars. Do you know the credentials of whomever or whatever web site told you that granola bars were pretty bad?

    A simple granola bar will have some oats, and some sugar. The sugar is heated in the cooking process and provides the structural stiffness of the bar. All the other stuff that is added to various bars for marketing variety are designed to get your money. Other forms of bars are where the recent action is at. Larabars don't have oats at all, but have dates, and are easy to find in grocery stores.

    I wrote that to explain that sugar is not going to keep you from losing weight. The sugar in a simple granola bar is giving you carbs similar to the sugar in a Snickers Mini and similar to a larabar and similar to an apple.

    Spend a little more, and get protein bars if you want, but they still have sweeteners in them. Some use artificial sweeteners and some use sugar.

    Your time constraints make me think that some kind of coffee/oats/protein 'bar' is what you would like. You may have to make them yourself. I once made a batch of oatmeal breakfast bars from a video I found on wellplated.com, but there are probably thousands of sites offering free recipes for fast breakfast options.

    It depends on the brand I think. I won't eat the Quaker brand or brands similar because those are like glorified candy bars to me haha. I enjoy Kind bars! They're one of the closer options to a true granola bar because they have whole nuts and other ingredients. They have tons of yummy flavors too. A Kind bar and a hard boiled egg, Greek yogurt, or cheese stick were my go-tos when I was in college and would sleep until the last possible second!

    Do you like yogurt? It is about 60-100 calories per serving. Open, eat and enjoy :)

    Edit:: I like granola bars every now and again for breakfast too. Nothing wrong with them.

    Why don't you hard boil some eggs the night before. Grab a couple of those and a piece of fruit and you have a good quick breakfast on the go.

    Sounds good but ain't nobody got time fo dat. lol I don't know I like the breakfast feel. Eggs, granola bars etc

    I toast a wheat English muffin, add a scrambled egg and cheddar for a breakfast sandwich. It's quick and keeps me full till lunch.

    hot oatmeal with chia seeds/skim milk and a drizzle of maple syrup
    or 2 eggs and 1 toast
    or bran cereal with blueberries
    I just keep it basic

    Have oatmeal. If you want, throw in some cinnamon, vanilla and unsweetened cocoa powder. It will taste like chocolate pudding oatmeal.
