I am a strong believer in 'healthy eating' and not fad diets.
My weight loss has been slow but steady, now i need help to speed it up.

What do you think is the best diet and why?? (im a vegetarian but happy to hear about all types)

    Everything in moderation?

Diet is a horrible term - it implies that the "changes" are short term !!

I agree! Just continue healthy living, slowly but surely is the best way to go.

i also believe in the everything in moderation approach.

    However..

If you are looking to lose weight then I swear by the low-GI diet. Not only is it extremely easy and non-faddy (no counting points/red-green day etc) but it's probably the healthiest diet you can do. It balances blood-sugar levels and because low-GI food is slow burning, you feel fuller for longer. There are also no processed foods involved. It's just about eating the right foods in the right way. It's a marvelous nutritional education.

I did Rosemary Conley' GI Jeans Diet in 2008 and lost 5-stone (50lbs) with no problems - no plateauing, just a steady 1.5-2lbs weight loss every week. I managed to keep it off for 2.5 years (until I started seriously abusing my diet!!). The GI theory is that once you reach your goal weight, as long as you stick to GI foods for 3 days a week, you can eat what you want for the remainder of the week. Exercise is also important but you don't have to go mad (well, I did!!)

I cannot recommend this diet highly enough. As soon as my kitchen refurb has completed, I'm back on the Rosemary!!
