So yesterday I found out I have PCOS, a complete shock. But now so many things make sense.

But one of the things I was reading is that is causes difficulty with weight loss. I've been struggling with my weight since I was 11. And wasnt until 3 years ago that I was actually able to lose a really good amount. But I'm still 20lbs from where I would like to be.

For those who also have PCOS, what seems to work best for your weight loss? I was just focusing on calories but was reading low carb might be the best. Which would suck because it seems like everything is carbs.
I'm hoping now that I know I have it it might help me navigate the weight loss better.

Yep. I’m not hugely overweight, but I put it on really really easily and every pound is a struggle and fight to lose. Sucks but I’ve kinda accepted it for what it is.

I generally try to keep my carbs down a bit, my body definitely doesn’t do well with loads, but to be sustainable I need to not go crazy. And otherwise just calorie control and some exercise and it comes off eventually. Boring but eventually effective. And my symptoms are always fewer when my weight is lower so it is worth it.

    Good luck!

All the research I have seen would suggest lowering carbs and increasing exercise to be highly beneficial.

I have PCOS, for me, I've found the ratio of 40:30:30 (carbs:protein:fat) works amazingly. I do focus mostly on hitting 125g of protein a day, and the other macros just fall around where they should.

I lose as planned no matter what ratio I use as long as my calories are in a deficeit, but I've found the 40:30:30 split keeps me from feeling hungry and allows me to eat my favourite foods - chocolate and cake without feeling guilty. I also eat like 6-7 small meals a day (I'm naturally a grazer so this suits me better than 3 bigger meals and a small snack or two).

I'd suggest playing around with your macro splits to see what works best for you to keep you feeling full. As long as you keep up your deficeit, you'll lose the weight, you just need to figure out what foods keep you feeling full.

I’ve been DX with pcos 2009 never did anything about it until now, have a gluten intolerance didn’t like metformin and birth control just hides what’s going on so stopped all that in 2015. Starting Keto diet and trying to find energy to exercise

Everything isn't carbs. Many things are protein and fat. Plan your meals in advance - start by adding a protein and fat source if that's what you struggle with.
