Panera nutrition info

Does anyone know if the nutrition information on Panera's website includes things like salad dressing for every dish? I'm not sure, so I log "add-ons" separately...but do I need to? Like today for dinner I ate the power mediterranean chicken bowl (website says 360 calories) and logged the olive oil separately (120). Then I thought that maybe the olive oil was included since the website says the bowl has 20 grams of fat (maybe that's just from the bacon and hard-boiled egg?). Even though the descriptions of the salads include the dressing they don't specify if the nutrition information is all-encompassing. Any thought?

I don't know for sure, but it sounds to me like you did the right thing. If it comes from a restaurant and contains bacon, chicken, and eggs, 20 grams of fat sound about right to me. The salad dressing is probably extra, and olive oil dressing would probably put it above 360 cals IMO.

They probably get away with such low numbers by NOT including the dressing, I'm guessing.

When you look at the actual page for the power bowl, they specifically list the olive oil and lemon juice in the detailed ingredients section under the nutrition information, so one would presume that it is included: https://panerabread.com/en-us/featured-menu/power-menu.html#power-mediterranean-chicken-salad. They also include the salad dressing in the detailed ingredients for the salads under the nutrition part. Having said all of that, I would struggle to trust them that that was what they were actually doing as well. You might want to drop them a line and ask.

Thanks, guys. I've thought of asking the next time I'm there, but I'm not sure if the employees would know something like that offhand.

Try contacting them on the website in the contact us section. Sometimes companies will throw in a freebie coupon just for your trouble.

I eat there occasionally and check the nutrition beforehand. If the ingredient is noted in the detailed list, then yes, it's included.

Its pretty obvious everything is included in the calorie count. They wouldnt give the calorie count of a dish without one of the ingredients. If you go to "create an order" online you can sub/add ingredients and it calculates the new calories.
