Not losing weight

I'm 57. Have a active job walking 11000 steps a day. Stick to my 1200 calorie diet and in 6 weeks only lost 7 lbs. Last 2 weeks I've lost nothing. It's frustrating and discouraging when I am turning away sweets and high fat foods. Eating healthy. I'm not drinking a lot of water. Need suggestions. Thanks

Either you're eating more than you think (make sure you count creamer, oil, butter, dressing, sauces, juices and soda) or you're retaining water from sore muscles.
Most likely it's the food.3 -
Are you correcting your diet for the steps you are taking? Because the step count and the associated calorie burn can be grossly overestimated by the apps and smartwatches. So that can be one reason. 7 lbs in 6 weeks is a very good progress. Unless you don't notice weight loss for 3-4 continuous weeks you don't have to worry since weight loss is not always linear.6

7lbs in 6 weeks? I'd be pretty happy with that!7

1 lb per week is usually recommended as a good weight loss goal here on MFP. For those needing to lose a very small amount, 1/2 lb per week is considered adequate. Looks like you're actually on track. A lot depends on your actual numbers though. What is your current weight? What is your goal? Do you do any exercise apart from counting steps? Did you pick 1200 calories as a random daily goal, or is that what MFP suggested when you plugged your information in at the start?1 -
1 lb per week is awesome! honestly sounds liek your doing everythng right. i would still weigh as often as you do, but would look more at the "bigger picture" like look at your loss per month, rather than daily or weekly. honestly my weight can fluctuate about 4 lbs from day to day, depending on how much water i am retaining.

Thank you for all the help. I do need to make sure I count every bite. I weighed 176.8 and now weigh 169.8. I don't do anymore exercise then my steps as I'm exhausted after work but I'm going to try just 10 minutes of HIIT and see if that helps me plus drinking more water. I do feel better.0

MFP probably gave you 1200 because you told it 2 lbs per week. Unless you have 75 lbs or more to lose, 2 lbs is very aggressive. Change your goal to 1 lb per week and start using a kitchen scale for all solids as often as possible. You are probably eating more cals than you think, but that's been working out okay because you are losing at a pretty perfect rate!5 -

It sounds like you picked 2lbs/wk for your weight loss goal, but you likely don't have an extra 1000 calories a day to cut. MFP won't let you go below 1200. I'm thinking that 1lb/wk is a much more realistic and healthy goal for you in any case. It sounds like you're right on track but maybe need to learn a little more about how MPF and healthy weight loss actually works. It sounds like the only thing our of wack is your expectations and that's just because you don't quite understand the details.
Keep doing what you're doing and you should be fine.2
