Oatmeal suggestions

Hi all. Anyone have suggestions for what to put on top of my oatmeal? I'm avoiding fruit and simple sugar right now, and my only two current options are peanut butter or whey protein.

Chopped Nuts, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Chia Seeds, Hemp Seeds, Flax, Nut Butters, Greek Yogurt, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves, Vanilla. I've also put grated carrot, zucchini, mashed sweet potato and mashed pumpkin as well, they sound a bit weird, but if you add some spices it can be absolutely delicious.0

It was suggested to me once to try carrots and broccoli in my Oatmeal. I must admit I have never tried that, just can't do that for breakfast or a snack. I have added all kinds of spices.0

Good quality pasture butter - it's heavenly. I don't eat oatmeal without it anymore.0

Great, thanks for all the suggestions. I'm on a rather strict 50-day meal plan, that minimizes fruit and dairy (all simple sugars). So as much as I love fruit and milk in my oatmeal, I'll be doing my best to avoid it. However, if a 'cheat' is some berries in my oatmeal, then that's not so bad right! Better than a 500-calorie muffin lol.0

Oatmeal is a grain right? Think outside of the box. Treat the oatmeal like rice gruel.
So anything that you would eat with rice... you can eat with your oatmeal. Example: A sunny side up egg. A Ham and Egg scramble. Some red meat sauce. Some grilled chicken. Some stir fry. Some saute onions/mushrooms. Some cheese and beans. Some fish. Some peas.
Etc. Etc. I know it may sound weird.... but it's important not to be limited to the dogma of oatmeal =P0
