Elliptical Machine Question

Hi there! Just a little question here,

Will I lose weight if I worked out on the Elliptical machine everyday for 20 minutes with a proper diet? If so, how much in, like, a month? I've heard that I will gain muscles if I do it everyday and I don't want that, is that true too?

Thanks in advance! (^O^)/

You lose weight if you're in a calorie deficit.

You won't gain muscle from using the elliptical.

The elliptical will help you burn more calories and it is a good cardio workout. But it is not going to give you muscles, and you won't lose weight if you consume too many calories.

Using my elliptical helped me to tone my body as it got smaller as I calorie counted, and it helped me achieve a nicer leaner shape, but muscles, no.

If you like to eat at your current food level and don't want to eat less - then yes doing some exercise currently not done will allow you to lose weight as tavisstocktoad points out.

How much in totally depends on how much you do it in that case.

Or perhaps you can cut out one snack daily of 250 cal and do the exercise also - you'll lose faster.

Be aware exercise rarely has weight loss as side effect, but weight gain for many water weight reasons.

You would gain only enough muscle to allow you to do the movement if it is totally foreign to you.

But wherever you heard you'd gain muscle - ignore that source for any further info - useless.
