I'm wondering about frozen meals (like Smart Choice or Michellina's). I have been eating them for my lunch at work with a healthy salad. I find they help me keep my portions appropriate and they are quick and inexpensive. Any thoughts???

whatever works for you. if you enjoy them and they help you hit your calories and macros then you're fine.

I love my Lean Cuisine meals. They do help with portion control. I also use small plates to help with portion control.

If they fit in your calories and you like them, I don't see a problem. I have a frozen meal at least 3 times a week for lunch.

Not all weights are exact, can be +/- a margin of error, so calorific values may not be exact.

If you find frozen meals work for you, suits your pocket, time constraints, why not. If someone is part of a family it could make catering more complicated than needs be.

I really like Evol meals, with the chicken chipolte mac and cheese being a personal fav, but they are kinda pricey

I have a busy week, so I stocked up on Lean Cuisine this week because I knew I didn't have it in my to prep as good as I usually do and they were $1 each on sale/with coupon. They fit my calories, so that's what's what we're doing this week.

I love Evol meals, and some of the Amy's stuff. The veggie lasagna is very satisfying for me.

There are lots of great options for frozen meals these days! I have a whole thread devoted to them in a group  They can get pricey (~$3.50 USD, sometimes more) but overall the quality and flavor are much improved over what used to be offered, and I figure if they keep me out of the drive-thru it's a more than fair trade off.

I also like Evol and Amy's. Stouffer's Fit Kitchen is pretty good, and has great macros! Watch out for the super low-calorie, light protein ones. I'm sorry, but 190 calories is NOT lunch to me  Sodium can be high, if that's a concern of yours.

I agree with @JustRobby1 on the Evol chicken chipotle mac. I have liked all of the Evol meals I've tried. I sometimes get a couple of Michelina's too because they are always on sale! Evol tends to be a bit pricier, but Michelina is almost always around $1.00 at my grocery store. I personally like their versions of pizza rolls. I usually keep a few frozen meals on hand for days when I run out of time or don't feel like cooking.

just watch your sodium- they are pretty salty.

Have you ever had the Healthy Choice Steamers? They are SO GOOD!

I second the healthy choice steamers. Great portions and the sodium isn't too crazy! Add some frozen veg and you've got a filling lunch!

Wheres the link to this group thread?! I eat frozen meals a lot and I agree they have great ones these days compared to what they used to be. I usually look at calories first, then protein, then fiber, then sodium.
