When using a HRM...

Should you let it continue to count calories until your HR has returned to your resting rate or stop it as soon as you've finished your fitness activity? I noticed that my HR remains elevated well after my workouts and wanted to know if I'm cheating myself out of those extra calories burned.

I keep it going until I fall back under 100 bpm

I wear it doing cool down and stretch, but then turn it off, just to be conservative.

This is what I do. I usually don't sit down and let it get back to resting rate right after exercising so when it's 100(ish) I stop it.

I stop mine as soon as my workout is done. I figure if I actually burn a few more calories than I am logging that's okay. I would rather log under my actual calorie burn than over.

Actually since joining I'm down 23 lbs. I had lost 9 lbs before joining, but wanted to see my full progress in my ticker. :-)
But if you log in every day and track your food and exercise, there's no reason why you wouldn't have the same success. Feel free to add me as a friend.
