Excersising when feeling ill

I've been going to the gym for about 18 months, an hour on average 3 days a week. But if I get the slightest cold or virus I feel absolutely rubbish and don't do gym excersise for days!
How do you all get along with things like this?

I've been hitting the gym 5 days a week for about 3 years now. I've been sick this week and have missed 2 of my regularly scheduled days. I'm probably going to make up one of them on Sunday, which is normally a rest day. But I may not. In the grand scheme of things, 2 days is nothing.

depends on what kind of sick i feel...if its in the chest/cold - then rest is what i do, rest and recover; in the head then i'll workout but i'll do at home

My rule is - If I wouldn't want someone on the machine beside me in my shape, I'm not going to subject them to me, so if I feel I'm contagious I stay out of the gym. I keep my outdoor running schedule unless I feel like death (the flu I had last December or my bouts with mono).

Well, it's ok to rest and let yourself get better...

I've had a nasty upper respiratory infection since Monday...I'm significantly better today because I've allowed myself to rest.

Life happens...you don't have to be all exercise, all the time...when you're sick you should rest...and if you choose not to, stay the frick away from the gym and spreading the nastiness...please, please, please...it's rude.

If I can't breathe properly I'll stay away from crossfit and running because my workout won't be productive. Normally it's just a day or two though and I'm back at it.

Take it as good rest and recovery time. You'll feel better, and you won't lose ALL you #gainz in a few days. Take time to roll out muscles at home and/or stretch.

Also...you'll keep from getting all your nasty germs all over the equipment and getting someone else sick.
