I am having BA  surgery. I am going to be out of business for 5 weeks! I can start mild cardio after 3 weeks, but no weights until 5-6. I feel like I am going to be starting ALL over again. However, I can't complain too much...it's elective surgery. Anyone go thru this? :ohwell:

  • Hey! I had mine done in Aug. 2007 :) I did not take very long for recovery..... was back to work in food service at the time after 3 days...Lifting after about 2 and Running, etc. after about 3 weeks (with good support of course ;) ) It all depends on your body, and how the procedure is done though (under muscle, through areola for me) . Big tip - do the exercises they tell you to do afterwards ,even though it WILL hurt. If you wanna talk, feel free to send a message :) When is the surgery??
  • I too went back to work after 3 days! I had it done in 2002! You will do great!
and yes do the exercises/massaging that they tell you too! Helps prevent scar tissue from forming!

I've gone through it more than once.
I think as long as you eat clean and drink your water...you should be fine....

I know a girl who had her BA and was following MFP and actually lost weight while recovering!

It might take you a bit to gain your strength back once you start working out again, but you'll get there!

Best of luck on your upcoming surgery!:flowerforyou:
