trying again

It's been awhile since I logged or even kept any track of what I eat, 2 years actually. Before I had went on a diet and exercised A LOT, I was so focused (pretty much obsessed) on just losing weight, that number on the scale. I ended up losing a lot of weight and quickly, around 60lbs in half a year. I stopped when I started feeling bad, it wasn't good and I knew that so I stopped. Problem was, I stopped everything including caring about why I wanted to lose the weight in the first place, so I gained all the weight I had lost.
So now I am back as I find my life is changing in a few ways. I have been a stay at home mother for the past 10 years. My children are getting older and are in school now, my husband is changing his career to work at home, so me being a stay at home mother isn't as important as it was before. Honestly I have wanted to do something else eventually lol but it is scary to jump back into everything! Perhaps that is a good thing though, to change things up and have new experiences and to learn stuff. I am now enrolled in a veterinary technician program and have been looking for a job for experience (a ten year gap on a resume with one prior job ever isn't very impressive!). Luckily I had just had a good interview at a pet boarding place!
With all of these changes for the positive I am feeling happy and am excited to pursue my dreams. To have goals again is pretty great! This seems like a good time for me to start keeping track of my health. I know I eat too much everyday but it is really hard to change a bad habit and even harder to change a habit that your significant other follows as well lol. Last time when I had started attempting to change my diet my hubby wasn't interested in it so it was weird to eat completely separately from him all the time. But I need too try, and I want to try taking this a little slower this time around.
Forming one good habit at a time is my plan. I am glad to be here now and am ready to work to get into better health with everybody here.
