What's yr workout schedule?

I tend to have a big plan and then do what I can every week. 2 little one's at home make it hard to fit everything in. Weight lifting M-W-F lunch. Swimming T-TH lunch. Running Tues night-TH night-SUN morning. Biking SAT-morning. Not a triathlete and normally run in the winter and bike in the summer. Decided to learn to be a better swimmer this winter hence the swimming. Most work-outs are 45-60 mins. except SAT/SUN where I go longer. I finally feel I have as much as I can dialed in as I'm sitting at a desk from 8-5pm. Curious how others fit in their workouts.

I usually workout Monday morning, Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday evening, Friday morning, Sunday morning. Because that's what works best with my kids sports schedules.0

I do a fitness class every Tuesday/Thursday evening. On Wed and Saturdays my kids have sports at the YMCA...so I do cardio/weights those days while they are in their classes. Monday's I do aquafit. I take Friday and Sunday off each week...but if it's not raining, I'm usually going for a nice long walk most days as well.0

Monday: Easy Run (45-60 minutes)
Tuesday: Easy Run (25-30 minutes) - Will be shifting this to speed/hill work once I get my base mileage back up.
Wednesday: Strength and Core
Thursday: Easy Run (45-60 minutes)
Friday: Strength and Core
Saturday: Long Run day (90 minutes - 2 hours)
Sunday: Active rest day....usually go on a hike.0 -
Monday: Easy 5 miles
Tuesday: Tempo run 4 miles
Wednesday: Recovery 3 miles, body weight strength training
Thursday: Easy 5 miles
Friday: Rest or cross-train, body weight strength training
Saturday: Easy "long" run, 7-8 miles
Sunday: Rest
No real science behind my schedule. I mainly just do what I want to do when I do it, but it tends to look like the above more often than not.0 -
Usually something like this:
Mon - stationary bike & resistance training
Tues - rest day
Wed - run 2-4 miles depending how far I fancy
Thurs - as above
Fri - stationary bike & resistance training
Sat - run 6 - 12 miles depending if I have a race coming up or not
Sun - walk/rest0 -
20 minutes of yoga every morning at 8:15am...
Pull-up workout either Saturday or Sunday (takes about 30 minutes)...
Overhead press workout once during the week (takes about 30 minutes and the day varies)
Pull-up / push-up complex workout once during the week. Typically 5 rounds of 8 or so pull-ups followed by 16 or so push-ups. I do this in the morning in-between entertaining my son before the bus comes to pick him up for school so it can take anywhere from 20 - 40 minutes...
Jump rope a few times per week for about 10 minutes...
A few HIIT Tabata workouts here and there. Burpees, mountain climbers etc...0 -
Messed up my knee about 6 weeks ago so running isn't really a thing anymore. Was running MWF, weights Thurs, Sun. Active recovery Tuesday, Saturday.
These days it's more like Swimming 2-3x/week, weight 2x/week. Definitely don't work out as much as I did.0 -
I have no true schedule. What I've noticed is that on average, I end up jogging 3-6 miles twice a week, doing 1 spin class at the gym and 1 elliptical day. Add in some free weights, ab work and kettlebell exercises at home when I'm in the mood.0

Life always intervenes so I make sure when I finally have a free hour or so, I absolutely get a workout in.
I try to lift weights 3 times a week (but sometimes it may be only once), and get two good cardio workouts in.
Its pretty rare that I have a completely inactive week.0 -
The ideal normal week looks like this
Monday: Morning 30 min workout, Walk to work and back (9km) Short run at end of day (3km)
Tuesday: Morning 30 min workout, Walk to work and back (9km), Weights @ Gym (1hr) plus walk to and from there
Wednesday: Morning 30 min workout, Run at end of day (5km), plus a walk around town if at all possible
Thursday: Morning 30 min workout, Walk to work and back (9km)
Friday: Morning 30 min workout, Walk to work and back (9km) Cardio class (1hr)
Saturday: Long run (7-8 km at present building to 10) plus a walk around town if at all possible
Sunday: Rest day but still aiming for 10k steps
Often I have to juggle things around a bit around work schedules and life in general. But I rarely miss my morning workouts and weights once a week. I also try my hardest to get the three runs a week in Even if it means scaling back on distance.
The one that suffers most often is my walk to work when I have business meetings away from the office.0 -
When in town -Swim 615 am with a master's club Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. Gym Tuesday/Thur before work- usually 25 min run, 25 min weights and abs. Sat is day off or slow jog or walk around the neighborhood.
I travel about 50% for work. While on road, walking or jog on treadmill in hotel as much as I can.0 -

Mine varies a lot depending on the weather, season, and my obligations. But going to the gym at lunch for lifting and swimming is working very well for me.0

I try not to plan too big...regular exercise is important to me, but so are a lot of other things.
My exercise is variable depending on the season and my daily/weekly obligations and I keep things flexible.
I'm at the tail end of my riding season now..
Monday - 8 mile ride PM after work (little less than 30 min)
Tuesday - Lift PM after work (60 min)
Wed - 10 mile ride PM after work (a bit over 30 min)
Thurs - off (or a swap out day if something came up earlier in the week)
Fri - 12 mile ride PM after work (~ 45 min)
Sat - 20 mile ride...but sometimes less or sometimes more depending (~ 75 min)
Sun - Free play...hit the climbing gym or hiking with the family, etc...
When the time changes I will switch to hitting the weight room 3x per week and put my focus there and less time on the bike...probably just a couple of days on the indoor trainer (not my favorite thing) and the occasional weekend ride when it's nice enough to ride (not into riding below about 40*)
Also, my wife and I are both into fitness and think it's important so we help each other out a lot with domestic responsibilities...taking care of the kiddos, etc...we got a whole lotta team work going on...0 -

Wow - a lot of people do a lot of volume! I estimate if I complete a full week as planned it would be: lunch 45minx5=225mins + 2 night runs 60mins x 2 = 120mins. Sat ride 150mins Sun run 90 mins = 585mins = 9.75hrs. In reality given my life, I probably avg. closer to 5-6 hrs maybe less if I have to travel for work. Mentally, it feels like I have too much planned but I guess it's better to plan and fail to than to plan too little and not progress. The rest is rest and diet which is much harder..0

I'd say I average 4-6 hours per week which in my estimation is just fine for general health and well being and exceeds basic recommendations. The only time I do considerably more is if I'm actually training for something as it really isn't necessary for health and to maintain a pretty solid level of fitness.
I did the super high volume, gotta be going all of the time thing for awhile and all it resulted in was burn out, life imbalance and my wife being pissed at me, and injury. Also, cycling which I really enjoy become less of an enjoyment and more of a chore...no bueno.
These days I train when I need to train...otherwise I just get in some good, moderate exercise and enjoy family time and throwing the ball around with my kiddos, etc.

I do 1 jog a week, 3 x week brisk/medium fast walking, strength training 2 times a week then rest day is Sunday usually. I train when I can if there's no rain (I train outside but I used to go to the gym!)
I usually train by myself and training outside is usually my me time...0
