How many calories?

Hi Guys

I have been following slimming world for a couple of years and have had some success but feel it’iesfor me and would lrefer to have more control over what I can eat. I would love to lose 1.5lb a week and MyFitnesspnsays 1300 calor ies with sedentary. Does this sound accurate? Feels like not very much to me. Through work I walk 2 miles a day Ok week days

    How tall are you?

    I would cut your deficit to a pound a week, which will give you 250 more calories.

    Hi Mali. I’m 5’5 and have about 3.5 stones to lose. I feel like 1lb would be a little slow. On the other hand, cutting calories to 1300 a day is maybe counter productive.

    I'd lean toward the counterproductive side.

    Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. All you can control is whether or not you are following your plan. If you keep a deficit over time, you'll lose weight over time.

    If you walk that much every day then your not sedentary...if you up your activity level MFP should give you more calories to play with :-)

    That's not necessarily so. A sedentary job only needs to have 1 of 1 hour bout of sitting each workday.

    If you are having trouble with only 1300 calories a day. I would change the setting to lose half a pound or 1 pound a week and when you get use to that amount of calories, increase to 1 pound or 1.5 pounds a week to lose until you are satisfied. I'm 264 pounds and have 1320 calories a day and sometimes I have to eat junk that's high in calories to get my calories in for the day. I only eat when I'm hungry and a lot of the time I skip breakfast. 3 months ago I woke up with a grumbling stomach, I was so hungry. I honestly never thought this day would come lol. I also find that if I have an active day, 2 days later I'm starving, all day. Good luck.

    I'm pretty sedentary other than taking care of my kids and cleaning and I'm at 1,200 calories but I feel like for me it's pretty easy to stay at that amount
