What are the essential things that I need to consume since I'm lactating and have a 4 month old kid. Just started counting and cutting down on my calories very recently however I fear that it'll effect the milk production.

For exclusive breastfeeding, you’re burning up to 500 calories a day with nursing. Staying hydrated is going to have more of an effect on your production than your calorie intake. Make sure you’re still taking your vitamins and eating a balanced diet, because your body will nourish the baby at the expense of your own health if you don’t get proper nutrition. Kellymom.com has awesome info on dieting while nursing.0
